one.doc || action, fisherman's horizon
[What an... interesting ordeal the past few days have been.]
[It had pretty much taken Data Riku this long to just wrap his head around the general concepts of 'school', 'eating', and other such minuteae. Physical bodies were quite the unexpected trouble. But fortunately Dataku was a smart bugger, so he had been able to figure it out eventually, though not without his fair share of humiliation.]
[Humiliation such as what had just happened a few minutes ago.]
[By virtue of the data within him that concerned Sora's bank account, Dataku had thought that he was set as far as munny was concerned. But no. He had all the money he needed... except it was now a foreign currency that he had no idea what to do with. So buying one of these 'sandwich' things had suddenly become much harder, and he had needed the girl running the counter to help him sort it out. Embarrassment ahoy.]
[So here he was now, sitting on a bench with a barely-touched sandiwch next to him, puzzling over a number of assorted colored coins. This 'gil' was so ridiculous. The 50-gil coins were the green ones, right? Or were they silver?]

And here you thought I would never escape your pages. How humbling this must be for you.

[Oh dear sweet everloving... er, something. Argh, Sora, why don't you know any curses?!]
[Slowly, Dataku turned his head to the right, suddenly feeling... unusual. Though he of course wouldn't know it, this is the feeling of pure, unfiltered "fffffffuuuuuuuuu--". But even then, his expression quickly turns from horror to an impressive death glare. He's on his feet almost immediately, coins in his pocket -- and if not for the warning he had gotten in that letter about unusual abilities, that wretched glitch would have a Soul Eater to his throat right now.]
...Who let you here?
[He practically spits the words.]

[He's smug. Very smug. But he's making no threatening moves. In fact, he's got hands shoved in his pockets, the most smug smile ever across his face. He does, however, nod at the sandwich.]
You should eat that. Don't want you keeling over, after all.
no subject
...Seems you've been slacking on those big dreams you had planned for the physical world.
[He's just going to ignore that bit about the sandwich.]

[He's willing to be very open about this. Because, frankly, he isn't ready to be eliminated over mere existence.]

[Dawn had spotted Dataku from afar, and, mistaking him for the real Riku, decided she wanted to surprise him, considering he looked to be deep in thought.]
Did I scare you?

...Who are you?
[Apparently now it's Let's-Everyone-Go-And-Scare-Dataku Day.]

[And they didn't find him.. she'll just leave that out.]

It could be the replica, but he was killed by Riku's own hands. And the dark cloak that that one wears, well, the replica certainly didn't have that either. There's something off about this copy; he's not acting like how the other one did. Maybe there was more than one that was made.]

[He was programmed to recognize it, after all.]
[Riku, no doubt about it. The real one. Dataku didn't let his gaze linger on anything at all, but he knew who it was, and while pretending to go back into his coin-induced reverie Dataku did some assessment of his own. Surely seeing him would throw the true Riku for a loop. If he was concerned, which he likely would be, he would come up in time.]

Riku strides up to the bench,m hands shoved in his pockets with a not-so pleased expression on his face.]
Where are you from?
no subject
King Mickey's computer... I am the journal data of Sora's journey.

You're journey data and you look like me?

[He looks up. It seems as if this 'I'm not Riku' speech will be a mainstay for a while.] ...I'm not the Riku you know. [He's just going to keep quiet about the fact that he knows who Aerith is, too. Best to take it slow.]

She spots a familiar head of silver hair--and it draws her up short. ]
You're not Riku. [ No hesitation. ] Who are you?

scream i didn't get a notif for this ;A; I'M SORRY
You're from the same place as Ardos...?
[ When did she start calling him that? Thinking of him as 'Ardos'? Since she gave him the name, probably.
She stands in front of data Riku, head lightly tilted, gauging his expression. Besides the visible age difference, there's so much less...liveliness in it than in the real Riku's. How anyone could mistake them who knows either is impossible for her to imagine. ]

[Pause.]
[...Oh...]
...Yes. The same place as... Ardos.

I...yeah. He's a data version of Sora's heartles...I think. [ This stuff is confusing. She scuffs her boot against the cobblestones. ] What are you data of?
