001 ☠ action | Fisherman's Horizon
[After a few days of being stuck in this world, Joe hadn't found much out other than what was obvious. For the most part, he and Marvelous dug up the same information, which wasn't much to go on anyway. What was clear was that they were in a school, and a military school at that. Authority, structure... neither he nor Marvelous did well with that. It was too boring... lacked excitement. And rules... they were meant to be broken by their standards.
At least the 6am wake-up call didn't bother him.
He was up and ready before the early-morning wake-up call, but he wasn't going to any classes. Of course not. Why would he? It's not like he wanted to be here, anyway. The idea of joining military again made him uncomfortable. The last time...
Well, that was then. He was a pirate now.
And he wasn't about to quit training to stay at the top of his game. So as soon as he was ready that morning, he made his way just at the edge of Fisherman's Horizon to a clearing, one that he hoped would be private. And with Marvelous' sabre. If he needed it back, he'd come find him.
With a clear head, he began to practice.
ooc; You really only have to watch the first 30 seconds of that.]

Not wishing to wake up the other boy, he slips out of bed only to notice it was too bloody early. Knowing he wouldn't reconcile sleep, Yuu washed his face, and made a quick change of clothes before leaving his quarters.
The morning air would help him clear his mind- that is until he heard someone training from afar. Curious, the boy made his way silently to the direction of the heated battle cry and the song of blades cutting through air.
Mesmerized by the precise movements of the swordsman, Yuu stood a good distance away just to watch.]

His body straightened as he finished his final cut through the air, his long hair falling across his face.
Eyes focused ahead of him, Joe noticed the little boy looking at him-- no, staring at him.]
What?
no subject
Hm? [Honestly and utterly confused by the man's question, the boy keeps staring, not very bothered nor concerned if he had annoyed the other.
His eyes, however, trail down to the twin blades.]
Who taught you?
no subject
[It wasn't a memory Joe wanted to talk about. It was a very touchy subject, actually. That was long ago-- before he joined up with Marvelous.
But he was thankful for it. Sid had taught him all he knew about being a swordsman. Most of the moves he knew were from him. Not that he hadn't grown as into a skilled swordsman by himself. Fighting alongside his crewmates helped as well.]
no subject
You're not from here either, are you? [More of a statement rather than a question. His tone verging on accusing. The man carried himself with different air- more confident. There was something in his eyes that Yuu would later, once he becomes a soldier of God, recognize as battle-hardened.]
no subject
He gave the kid a smirk before he answered his question.]
Once you master one sword, then it becomes too easy. Two swords is more of a challenge. And if you get good enough, you can always wield more.
[Joe shakes his head to his other question.]
No. Where are you from?
no subject
It doesn't matter, there's no point. I'm here now and I'm not going back.
no subject
He chuckled softly.]
You like it here, then?

[A small pause as the boy put his thoughts together to word just what was wrong with this place. There were many things he didn't understand to begin with. Kindness towards a complete stranger. An outstretched hand of help he which he was offered the moment he arrived. The joy of life everyone but him, seemed to share. These simple things that most take for granted, were just completely foreign concepts to him to the point that it seemed alien.
The only people who cared for him were his makers but that was because they not loved, but pitied him for tearing him limb by limb every single day ever since he woke up in that shithole.]
Everyone is strange. [He finally concluded, not really finding an own answer within his thoughts. Satisfied with just that fact.]
It's annoying, but I wouldn't trade it for that place,
no subject
[The concept of camaraderie was almost foreign to him too... until he met Marvelous. The willingness to help a complete stranger, even risking his life. Ever since he had joined Marvelous in his adventure, Joe had slowly gained a family somewhere in between, and had finally realized that recently.]
People surprise you sometimes.
[And he actually meant that. Maybe the kid was onto something. Even though Joe didn't consider this place home by any means and just wanted out and back on the Galleon, he understood.]
If you find some place to call home... it's your home.
[For fear of this conversation becoming too touchy-feely for his own taste, Joe cleared his throat and changed the subject, rather abruptly.]
You were watching me. Have you used a sword before?
no subject
I was. What of it?
I'm a cadet at this facility and I've recently taken up swordsmanship. That is all. I'm familiar with as much as my teacher has shown me and nothing else.

[Marvelous tended to ignore the wake up call in favour of sleep so when he finally did emerge from bed, he noticed his sabre and his first mate were gone. But that didn't surprise him. Despite Joe no longer being military, he still did have a sense of routine and discipline when it came to training.]
You disappeared on me last night.
Hearing Marvelous' voice from behind him, Joe still didn't miss a beat. He finished his sequence of movement and turned to face him.]
What time is it?
My Internet died so I went to bed
And also grab a few things for his first mate who, if he was training early, likely skipped out on eating. Approaching Joe, Marvelous held up a bag of various breads and sandwiches.]
They didn't have chicken wings.
Aww
He tossed Marvelous his sabre and eyed the bag of food he brought with him. That... was a lot of food. Joe concluded that most of the food was probably for Marvelous, since they were without a cook... and a ship.
As far as the comment on the chicken wings, Joe chuckled. Of course. There were never any chicken wings.]
Find out anything interesting while you were there?
It's all better now.
Nah. Although they're not expecting those who just arrived to take the classes now so, we have a free pass to take their things until they start over again.
[Translation: they have some time to look for money and a ship before they get cut off from the sponsors for not doing a damn thing.]
Yay! \o/
[Well, except for the food... and a ship... but that would be hard, right?
If they get cut off from their sponsors, they'll just have more free time on their hands. So that's a good thing.]
The sooner we can get out, the better.

[He knew that Joe would want to practice that as well and, in battle, Marvelous needed his own sword as much as Joe did since he didn't specialize in using two guns. There always could be more stuff they wanted at that place but, for now, all Marvelous wanted was a new ship. And it didn't matter how hard it was to get it.]
Yeah. I want to get back to finding the greatest treasure in the universe. [He didn't know for certain if time stopped back in their world while they were here but, if it didn't that meant it was Luka, Doc and Ahim against Basco and the rest of Zangyack.
....He had quite a bit of faith in his crew but, at those odds, they were doomed.]
no subject
There are some interesting weapons here.
[He had browsed through the information system while he took a stroll through the Garden last.]
It might be useful to get our hands on some.
no subject
Then we go in and take them soon.
no subject
When do you want to go?
[Because you know, Joe still has to shower and do his hair again.]

/ that was a highly distracting intro *A*
Flying about, she passed a clearing and saw a glint of ... something. Swooping down low upon her enchanted oar, she came close for further inspection.]
I had to give you the visual. It's very pertinent to this post. xDD
As he stopped to take a break, he felt eyes on him and turned around.
There was no one there... but looking up, there was someone floating above him. He was a bit surprised-- she was floating on an oar, of all things.]
It's preeeetttttyyyy~ *A*
She had no intention of interrupting, but he had noticed her. Smiling, she gave a small wave and flew in closer.]
Hello, there. Quite a technique you have~
Isn't it? This is why I really must find a sakura tree to have him practice under. c:
When the person floating on the oar spoke, Joe just gave her a grin and looked away.]
It's nothing. I was just practicing.
[He's so modest.]
