[ Making their way from the Garden Lobby to the Fisherman's Horizon inn are a boy and a girl, each with a course catalog tucked under their arms and matching confused faces. Their bodies are turned into each other slightly, enough to let onlookers know that they're friends. The girl's eyes keep darting about, whether in amazement or sheer surprise is difficult to tell. The boy looks warier, shoulders hunched, stooping like a silver gargoyle over his companion. At some points, the girl rushes into the fancy shops, leaving the boy alone on the street, his eyes snagging on every pooled shadow.

They're probably going to get epically lost. Help them out?

Yeah...as long as we actually get some catching up done, I don't think they'll mind. [ She tilts the page farther for him to get a better look. ] It says here we can double major, if we want. What are you going to pick, Riku?

They shouldn't. I would think that it would be a lot easier for them to put integrate new students in between semesters than in the middle of one.

Double majoring usually means more work, but... [Looks over at the sheet in silence again.] Maybe the Covert Operations or the Blade Specialization. What about you?

[ Kairi gives her friend a sideways look, then laughs. ]

I can see it now: 'Riku, master of espionage!' It suits you, though. As for me...

[ She thumbs the page, feeling a bit awkward. ] I don't know; I don't know what I'd be good at, in this list. I've never done any of this stuff.

Well, lets face it, you and Sora would make horrible spies. [He smiles a little.] I guess it would, having spent a year learning how to do recon.

They're not exactly anything that we're used to doing exactly. But what about one of the magic courses? Or the medicine?

[Something nice and safe. From the sounds of the course content, she'd be learning to defend herself, but Riku still would not want her to just jump into a battlefield guns blazing. Who knows how harsh the weapon specializations are to their students.]

[ Honestly surprised to hear it! Not that she isn't flattered. ] I was thinking of taking the bladed weapons, since I need to get better with the Keyblade.

I think it's worth a shot for you. Not everyone's good at magic. Sora's better at it than I am.

[He flips over to the course descriptions and flips it back, trying to look at what's available.] From the looks of things, most of the weapons-related classes you need to take anyways [Or at least the introductory classes, which is what she could use.] or have the option of taking them.

It's just a thought.

[ She nods, relaxing. ] You're right...I could always change, too.

[ She gives one of his silver tresses a tug. ] I like the way you think.

[He doesn't object or bat her hand away, but he does make a funny face at that.]

[ She offers him a bright grin. ]

[He pauses, trying to look up at his bangs.] I guess it is pretty long though, huh?

[ The sight of him, staring up into his own bangs, makes her giggle. ]

You're probably overdue for a haircut. I wonder if there are barbershops in town.

There probably is. But I don't know if I'd want one yet.

[ Because he is giggle-worthy! Albeit less so than a certain spiky-haired clown-shoe'd Keybearer of their mutual acquaintance. ]

[Totally. But that one is a little more laughing-worthy than giggle-worthy.]

It does, a little. But I didn't really notice it for that year. [Because of the blindfold and all. He shrugs.] I don't mind it.

'Mysterious' look, huh? Maybe in that case, I'll leave it long for a little while yet.

[Now it's his turn to reach over and lightly tug a strand of her hair.] Yours grew out a lot too.

Well, you were gone a for a year. I decided to see what it would look like, long.

Hey, I wasn't bored! I went to school and clubs, too. I just thought a new look would be...nice.

[He chuckles faintly, and turns his head away from her.]

It does look good on you, though. And I'm sorry you did all that alone.

I wasn't alone: I had Selphie, Tidus and Wakka to keep me company.

[ She won't say it wasn't the same without him and Sora, though. He knows. ]

Besides, you didn't miss much, unless you actually like algebra.

[He does know, but he also knew that she was safe, and that was one of the most important things.]

Heh, algebra's not too bad, especially when Sora's not bugging you for help every night.

I can take care of myself! [ Also she has parents for that, Riku. ] Plus I had Tidus bugging me for help every night, so it evened out.
