[As much as Tom hated to admit it, exercising in the Boxing room just wasn't cutting it out for him. Some of his colleagues suggested that he should get a workout in the training center, but as Tom saw it? That was less a workout and more a "excuse in killing monsters." The pacifist in him wouldn't agree to unnecessary fighting!

So in the end, Tom settled for heading towards the pool. Granted, he hadn't had swimming classes in forever - and the werepanther in him hesitated the moment he walked onto the area - but anything had to be better than killing monsters for the sake of getting some fresh air and exercise.

Throwing his towel onto one of the beach chairs, Tom walks towards the edge of the pool and takes a deep breath. It's okay, it's just water... he can dive in at any moment...

Except he doesn't. Someone push the werekitty in already? It's pretty obvious, from the way he's flailing, that he's not going in anytime soon.]

Guy sounds like a real nutcase. [She looks thoughtful at the news about the other Instructor's home world.] A world where it's normal to hold your breath for twenty minutes? Sounds nuts, but whatever. Guess most people would find a world where some guys wear tights pretty weird too.

Training dummies are one thing, but living, breathing creatures are another.

[This is one of the reasons why Artemis will never use the training center for it's intended purposes. Setting up a makeshift archery range maybe, fighting monsters? Not so much.]

It's not a "guess," it's a "oh hell yes they find it weird." [Tom still remembers his first month of school and the people he met there... it was a doozy.] But if you ever get slack, just point out that this world has gunblades. That usually shuts 'em up.

[There's not much else he can say on the second subject, so he smiles in agreement. Man, if only his world's Artemis had acted like this as a kid... or maybe she did and he never realized it.]

Guess it's one of those things you have to grow up with to find normal. [She shakes her head.] Have no reason to get slack. It's not like I make a habit of talking about the hero business.

[She didn't even tell the school, figure it wasn't their concern.]

[If only she knew the full extent of what her other self was like. She'd probably work even harder than she already is, because major do not want. That costume alone is reason enough to stay on the straight and narrow. Ugh.]
