Sweet, I think I got this thing to work.

Today's your lucky day, Balamb Garden. The one and only Kid Flash has arrived. Like yourselves, I suddenly found myself here. At first, I was all "Dude, what even?!" You know how that hero thing goes. Places to be, people to save, hot chick that need are need of showing their admiration, and all that good stuff. Being here was definitely not in my plans.

But then I got a letter saying that some "Sorceress" [Adds in some air quotes]sent me here. Yeah, no. News flash for everyone who doesn't already know; sorceresses and wizards don't exist.It's all smoke and mirrors mixed in with some special technology. Speaking of special technology...

Who has two thumbs and works with the world's fastest hero, who is also a scientist and deals with future technology? This guy, right here. [Thumbs to himself.]

Point me in the direction of your scientists and I'll have you out of here in a flash.

Well whatever her reasons, she really needs to lay off.

[She stiffens a little, eyes narrowing as he hovers far, far too close for comfort. Stupid Wally.]

No. They're what we would have been in a different universe or something. At least that's how Tim made it sound anyway. He's their Robin.

[She glances up at Wally thoughtfully.]

Not the same Robin as ours, but I did learn something about our Robin from him.

Hold up! Did you say their Robin? Dude, lame! They need to be more original and not go around taking our ideas.

[Pauses and thinks back to what Cissie said.]

Unless they are from the same future, where yours truly becomes The Flash!

[Lifts his hands up for a second and thumbs to himself, before putting his hand back on the desk. And now he is leaning in even closer to her because his curiosity has over taken his need for personal space.]

Oh yeah? What did you learn?

[When she looks up at him, he looks down at her and then...he feels all weird when their eyes meet.]

Maybe Robin didn't come up with his name, Batman did.

[She shrugs a little bit, a motion that's really awkward with Wally so close.]

It sounds like it. Seems they're all from the same team. [She rolls her eyes at him then.] So it's okay for you to become the Flash, but Tim can't become Robin?

[Since when did Wally ever have a need for personal space to begin with?]

I learned... [she stops as their eyes meet, her stomach churning awkwardly. After a moment she writes it off as annoyance and makes sure to pointedly look away.]

The first Robin's name was Dick Grayson. I go to school with a Richard Grayson. You do the math.

I corrected myself, so your point is invalid.

[Lifts his hand off the desk once more and steps away from her. Right now he could use a little personal space, because those weird feelings are making him feel awkward being so close to her.

Glances away from the side and rubs the back of his neck.]

[And then he looks back at her with wide eyes.]

He told you Robin's name?!

Whatever.

[She appreciates the space, rubbing her arms awkwardly as she tries to get her own weird feelings to go away. Stupid Wally.]

[The smirk on her face is rather telling.]

Made a joke about wondering who came up with the name Robin and he said to ask Dick or Batman. Then he admitted that Dick Grayson was the first Robin and I figured it out from there. Though you just confirmed that I was right. Thanks for that, Kid Mouth. You were a big help.

How come you know anyway, thought it was supposed to be a big secret from the whole team.

That's where you're wrong, Miss wants-to-know-it-all. I didn't know his name until you said it. That Cissie chick already knew my name without me saying anything to her. I guess they are all from the future and know tons of stuff about us.

Really? Because I figured if I was wrong you would have insisted that it had to be another Robin.

[She shrugs]

Maybe I figured wrong. You can't blame me for trying.

Anyway, he shouldn't be saying anything about that and we shouldn't either. There's a reason Robin keeps that a secret. He's going to flip all kinds of tables if he finds out we know.

Maybe he figured I already knew or that our Robin is a different one. Either way it's a little late now.

[She shrugs. Frankly she really doesn't care what reasons he has.]

It gets weirder. There's a teacher here named Dick Grayson, he's from Gotham too. I haven't talked to him about it yet, but he might be from a world more like Tim's.

Oh, oh, oh! Speaking of future stuff and all of that.

[TOPIC CHANGE GO. because this is more awesome.]

Guess who has two thumbs and becomes the Flash?

[Pauses and them thumbs to himself.]

This guy! Right here!

[She watches him and then rolls her eyes.]

Just because you became the Flash in their universe it doesn't mean you will in ours. I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you.

[After all if Tom's to be trusted she grows up to be a supervillainess so she refuses to believe that these strangers know anything about their future.]

So you're saying you don't think I'm going to become the Flash?

[Folds his arms across his chest and frowns at her. While he might sound pretty self assured about it, it's something he has some doubt about in the back of his mind.]

[Damn it, how does she keep ending up in these situations?]

Relax. That's not what I was saying at all. What these people say, we can't treat it as fact just because they're from the future, because it might not be our future.

[She sighs, refusing to look at him when it comes to the next part. Praising him in any way is just so awkward.]

If you want to become the Flash someday, I don't see how anything can stop you.

[The good news is that a little ego stroke goes a long way with Wally. Grins at her.]

Good to see you have some sense in your head. I mean who else could fill his spot? I might not be the fastest man alive, but no teen can touch me.

[LITTLE DOES HE KNOW.]

[She knows this, not that she'd purposefully stroke his ego. She's telling the truth. Which is probably better if he thinks about it.]

Maybe. Isn't your cousin a speedster too? [She points at the screen pointedly.] Maybe that's what this is all about.

Pfft, you say that like you think he has a chance with keeping up with me. No way that's going to happen.

How would I know? It's not like I've seen him in action.

Once you've seen me in action, no one else compares. That can be applied to a whole lot of situations.

[Makes a clicking sound with his tongue, flashes the thumbs up and winks.]

[Turning in her chair Artemis just looks at him in what can only be called a mixture of shock and horror.]

Did you just... hit on me?

[Maybe time compression messed with his head or something.]

Wait...what?!

[Looks as horrified as her. -Did- he? He was mostly bragging, but the way he went about it could be seen that way. Quickly shakes his head.]

No! I was just stating a fact. Like if someone's really good at, uh, baking. Like M'gann. You'd be like "Once you've tasted my muffins, you'll never go back to any other muffins". She's not saying she'll bake for you.

[The fact that he looks as horrified as she feels is pretty reassuring. Though that doesn't make up for the split second where she actually felt pleased that he was hitting on her. Stupid Bialya, clearly the memory thing is still screwing with her mind. That's all this is.]

She doesn't have to say she'll bake for anyone, because she already does. She'd never say anything like that anyway.

And she certainly wouldn't say it while doing that thumbs up winky thing.

But that's M'gann and this is me. Winking and doing the thumbs up comes as naturally to me as being annoying comes to you.

[Is also trying to blame the whole mistake on Bialya and his natural inclination to flirt. Smirks at her before he takes a couple of steps backwards.]

Anyway, I'm going to finish exploring this place in more detail.

[Glancing at the computer she turns back to Wally with another incredulous look on her face.]

Tim thinks I should give you a tour.

[She shakes her head.]

He said that the fact that I'm the last person you'd want a tour from makes me the best person to give the tour for some reason.

Their entire team is weird.

...How does that even make sense?

It doesn't. Not from what I can tell anyway.
