[So after David first arrived at Garden and went through his first day, meeting Jade along with...some other individuals, familiar and unfamiliar all at once, he finally decided to go into the room he'd been assigned. Hopefully, Danny, you weren't enjoying your privacy too much, because a blonde kid in a purple shirt just barged in and dumped a whole lot of stuff onto one of the beds. Seemingly from nowhere. Two laptops(one of which is bright green), a weird hub thing, some plush toys and action figures, a pair of headphones, a pair of headphones with a screen, some books...is that a gilded Swiffer with a pink bandanna attached to it?
Shields, chainmail outfits, the list really goes on. Point being there's a guy(is that even a guy?) with a moving shadow in your room who just, to all appearances, pulled a whole lot of weird shit out of hammerspace and dumped it on the bed. Thankfully, it wasn't your bed.
Give him a minute, he hasn't noticed your presence.]

What.
What.
What.]
Uhhhhhh...
[Sorry, he's not capable of actual speech just yet. He's trying to work out what that shiny pink-covered thing is.]
no subject
... Ah. I wasn't informed that we would be assigned roommates. You would be...?
no subject
How the hell does this guy's voice have an echo.]
...Danny. I'm. I'm Danny Masters.

David Lalonde.
[It begins to occur to him that ejecting his sylladex onto the bed may have been counterproductive and in fact totally fucking pointless.]

[Okay. What now?
Alright, this got awkward enough. Time to break up the silence.]
So, you're...going to be living here?
no subject
That appears to be the case. It's not much compared to home, but it should do.

[He puts a hand in his hair, surveying his surroundings. Placing the few books he had stored in his sylladex onto a bookshelf instead. House of Leaves, The Neverending Story, a few books he'd picked up from the library...he would have to see if any fiction from his world remained here.]

[Danny looks around and notices the room has suddenly dropped 100% in the Weird Shit Lying Around category.]
Oh...where did all your other stuff go?
no subject
I captchalogued it.
[Said kind of matter-of-factly and a little bit confused. That sort of goes without saying, doesn't it?]

[Danny what is so hard to understand about this.]
no subject
[Everything, David. Everything is hard to understand about this.]
no subject
... it's like an inventory system, Danny.
no subject
[dude, this is weird.
you're weird.]
no subject
[God how to explain this. He just pulls up the Tree Modus again so Danny can see it, retrieving a random object from a leaf card--the Hubtop, this time.]
no subject
Danny is so confused right now. There are cards and weird connections between them and shit is getting pulled out of thin air--]
Oh. W-Wow. Uh. Okay, then.
no subject
It's normal enough where I'm from. Everyone has one.

[And some slight tongue-clicking in distaste as he realizes just how much reduction his personal library took. Looking at the shelf.]
This will never do at all.

[by which he means, he brought no books. They were all left in the library back home.]

[Sitting down and opening up the Hubtop, let's see if we can get some kind of access to whatever this place has as a network...]

So he blurts out:]
The--the internet doesn't really work here! But, uh, there's a network thing so that you can talk to anyone. As long as they're here, I mean. At the school.
