[Marco has gotten used to a full workload, so this semester, having precipitously less means that he has too much time on his hands. Sure there's the usual "productive" things like club activities or working on methods to keep his family alive when he gets back home, but a pirate has to chill out and have fun. Thus one morning finds Marco hanging around the ceilings, trying to perch upside down like a fail bat. Or maybe a blue ninja. Friends might get randomly dropped upon (for his amusement) but as for the rest, well does anyone ever really look up? If they do, they'll see a half-phoenix, half-blond man chilling out, and getting dizzy. Pro tip: phoenixes are not meant to perch upside down for long periods of time. Or maybe ever. Moral of the story: Leave it to the bats.]
Well, at least I know my claws are strong enough. [Stifles a yawn, this makes him sleepier than it should.]

[The training center has the usual suspects inside. Trainers, grats, some other creatures they picked up when the Garden crash landed before. Grell pays that no heed, however. She does realize that she isn't really dressed for practice of this nature. Oh well!
Turns to Marco, putting her hair up into a ponytail.]
Teach me, oh wise one~! [Yes, she is getting ideas for sexy roleplaying for later.]

All right there's all kinds of basics to start with. First I think falling back to use your opponent's momentum against them, eh?

Momentum. [THIS STANCE IS AWKWARD. More than likely because of a lack of chainsaw.] Right.

Now if I come at you like this, the basic goal is to move me with the flow to a position better for you. Like pinning me to the ground, or flipping me. If I throw a punch like this. [Demonstrates by breezing the throw past her cheek.] You'd dodge back that way and try to pull me forward by my arm because it's outstretched. Or trip up my balance because I'm already in motion forwards so it wouldn't take a lot to keep that going.
It's like physics really.

[HAVE YOUR OWN STARE THROWN BACK AT YOU.]
But, I understand. [She fought with the tiniest scythe EVER, so maybe fighting without one wouldn't be so different...]

[Twists her wrist abruptly to get her to fight back.]

A note: Grell is not as frail as she appears. Might wanna watch for her strength.]

The punch lands, making her twist around, but swings the other hand in an attempt to backhand Marco with the momentum of the turn.]

I am now~. [Hook. Line. And sinker. Walks fingers over his neck, mesmerized.] I could EASILY slit your throat right now. [Hums at that.] It's been too long...

Too long since killing someone or fighting? [Gently runs his hand soothingly over Grell's throat and under her chin.]
