[Standing in one of the hallways is a kind of funny looking kid. He's short and stocky with a ridiculous mop of inky black hair that looks like it hasn't been combed in weeks, but that's far from the strangest thing about him. Protruding from the mop of hair are a pair of orange-gradiented horns for starters, and the skin they protrude from is greyed and somewhat leathery. His eyes are yellow and his teeth are sharp and he... pretty much looks pissed off at everything.]

[Don't worry, that's normal.]

So let's pretend for half of a fucking miniscule human time measurement that I give one iota of a fuck about this place, and assume that I want to figure out where the fuck my dorm is.

[He glowers at the piece of paper in his hand.]

Would one of you useless pink monkeys like to point me in the direction of A201?

[Oh hey. Here's an instructor and she doesn't quite approve of the attitude. :c The horns don't bother her one bit, but the yelling and such. There are younger kids here, after all!]

Come now! That's no way to behave. I know it can be quite a thing, to suddenly be pulled in, but really now. If you need help that badly all you have to do is ask nicely.

The fact that you'd carry it around with you would be more concerning than your attitude...

Give your schedule here and I'll help you find your way, but that attitude will get you in tons of trouble if you keep it up. Some instructors won't tolerate it one bit, you know. It's not the best way for you to be on the path to becoming a SeeD.

[He stares her down for a while, eyebrows raised like he's just sort of confused that she's trying. This whole maternal instructor scolding thing is going to take some SERIOUS getting used to.]

[He hands her his paperwork after a while, still watching her warily.]

[Possibly too bad for him, but Karkat has definitely caught Botan's attention and she will make a point of it to watch out for him. Not to scold him at any chance she gets, but to see if he ever needs help adjusting. ...There might still be some scolding at times, though.]

Well, no, dear. Not many of us are here in this world out of choice, unfortunately. But it's not all that bad, you know. It's different and things can be chaotic, but it's a lovely place and you will be welcome here, where other places would turn us "outsiders" away without a chance. Here you have the chance to learn something you normally wouldn't, some amazing things, truly. [She carefully looks over his paperwork.]

A201...Alright, Mr. Vantas, have you seen any other places about the Garden yet?

[Karkat just... really doesn't know what to make of her. This must be how Human Lusii behave, and he's not sure he likes it. It makes him uncomfortable and it mostly makes him feel like a child and like he can't do things for himself, which...]

[Well he sort of already thinks he's shit at doing stuff so maybe this isn't a far cry from his personal truth but like hell is he going to admit it.]

I'm sure that once we're all done shitting rainbows and hopbeasts over this place we'll have a wonderful little tea party and play dress-up, too. And then we'll learn about the culture and the natives and we'll have another tea party with the natives. Don't let my face and tone fool you, I'm truly and honestly beside myself with excitement. [Karkat sarcasm isn't a nice way to treat friendly people.]

[Botan levels a slight glare over the schedule... an then smacks him lightly on his forehead with it. Be grateful, Yusuke got knocked into the ground often with an oar -- then again he was being a lech half the time, but still.

She then turns about like nothing happened and he didn't say a damned thing, before walking in the direction of his dorm sodamncheerfully. They will start this tour from there -- and if he gets tetchy with her, WELL.]

Come on, don't dawdle too much! There's lots to see before the day ends~

[He does let out a rather indignant squawk and flail at her when she hits him, though, and then snarls idly. Oh, oh he kind of really dislikes you in an extremely platonic and not at all caliginous way, Botan.]

[Which for your sake is probably a very very good thing.]

Oh my God I will be glad when it does, just so I don't have to look at you anymore. [The temptation to put him in a situation to have to deal with you often is very very high, Botan.]

[Flailing over a little bit of a paper. Honestly!

She ignores his indignation and protests with ease, leading him straight to his dorm room. It's like whatever you're saying doesn't matter, Karkat.]

This is your dorm; it's a double, meaning you already do or will end up with a roommate during your time here. Each bedroom is separate, but the common living area is for both of you. Your bedroom will have a bed, nightstand and shelving for your belongings, while the living space has a half-bath, kitchenette and a small lounge area to relax in. All boys are on one side, girls on the other.
