001 ♋ action
[Standing in one of the hallways is a kind of funny looking kid. He's short and stocky with a ridiculous mop of inky black hair that looks like it hasn't been combed in weeks, but that's far from the strangest thing about him. Protruding from the mop of hair are a pair of orange-gradiented horns for starters, and the skin they protrude from is greyed and somewhat leathery. His eyes are yellow and his teeth are sharp and he... pretty much looks pissed off at everything.]
[Don't worry, that's normal.]
So let's pretend for half of a fucking miniscule human time measurement that I give one iota of a fuck about this place, and assume that I want to figure out where the fuck my dorm is.
[He glowers at the piece of paper in his hand.]
Would one of you useless pink monkeys like to point me in the direction of A201?
[[ooc; tags when i'm back from a thing.]]

Dave and Jade for humans. For trolls, Vriska and someone named Nepeta. I haven't met her yet, but Dave has.
no subject
So it's The Great Human Reunion, plus one Spiderbitch and a Catgirl. [His tone is sort of guarded when Nepeta is mentioned, and his ears sort of flatten sideways like a cornered cat, but overall it doesn't change his expression much.]
no subject
[Which was funny because while she was a little crazy, she was still pretty cool.]
Pretty much! We're all cadets here except for Vriska.
no subject
And what's Vriska?
no subject
She's a SeeD. She's already been here for a long time and graduated.
[At least he didn't say instructor.]
no subject
Fucking wonderful. As if her ego wasn't already enormous.
no subject
[Shrugs and motions to the paper.]
Do you still need help finding your room?
no subject
[He glances at the paper when John motions to it, and flicks his ears in irritation.]
No, I just grew psychic mind powers while we stood here. Clearly the lack of intelligence in this conversation had reverse effects on me.
no subject
Come on, I'll show you where all the dorms are.
no subject
Fine.

[John sticks his hands in his pockets too, as they get to the center of Garden. He counts the halls until he finds the right one and starts heading down it.]
What did you say the number was, again?

no subject
[Up the stairs they go!]
So, hey, just because this place likes to pull stupid time shenanigans, whens the last time you talked to me?
no subject
[His pace slows slightly, and he hates the way his mouth dries out slightly when he realizes, so it takes him a while to even say anything. When he finally does, it's a cop-out, snarled response that's carefully guarded.] It was a while ago, I don't fucking remember. [Yes he does.]
no subject
Oh. [Well, okay.]
The last thing you said to me was actually kind of worrisome. [Now that he thinks about it, he's glad to see him okay.]
no subject
I'll give you worrisome, Egbert, try seeing two of your teammates murdered in front of your face by someone you thought was on your side, only to have another still go on a completely shithive maggots murdering spree. You try not knowing who of the people you care about is still alive, and then you tell me what the fuck is worrisome.
no subject
[He wasn't expecting what was apparently a mutiny. He didn't want to think about one of his own friends turning on them. It was just something he couldn't even fathom.]
[Unfortunately the thought of losing them as well, was a subject fresh on his mind after his trip back home, he couldn't imagine how Karkat felt right now, because just thinking about it gave him a bad pain in his chest.]
Karkat...
[He really wished he had something better to say.]
no subject
Shut up. Just shut the fuck up, take me where you're taking me to, and continue to shut the fuck up, okay? I don't need you pretending you get it, or get me, or pulling your stupid friendship bullshit right now. Save it for somebody who gives half a shit.
no subject
Yeah. Okay.
[And John does just that. He turns and keeps heading up the stairs. There was irony to be appreciated in the fact he actually did have an idea but not even he could do this right now.]
no subject
[He didn't want to shove John away, John was probably the only person that could actually help him with this, and would without thinking he was a total loser with no spine, because John never thought ill of anybody for anything and it's not like the retard was capable of disliking another living being for any reason at all. He snarled, quietly to himself, and shoved his hands back in his pockets.]
Hopefully you guys have been at least fucking up less than I have.
no subject
[Way to go, now it was all at the surface. He was kind of really glad he was walking in front of him. Obviously the last thing Karkat needed was to see him lose his shit.]
[Though, that remark makes him stop. Was he? He didn't even know any more. He'd been killed again and he had no idea if Rose was okay. He'd let his Dad get killed by Jack and eventually the Scratch would lead to him getting loose in Karkat's world. Yeah. Let's make a list of fucking up and see who wins.]
[Instead of saying anything, he opts to continue honoring his vow of silence and start walking again.]
no subject
Egbert-- [He reached forward and grabbed John by the shoulder without really thinking, and in realizing he'd done it out of some sickening form of concern, he forced his eyebrows together into a scowl and tugged roughly on the shoulder once it was in his grasp.] Tell me you didn't fuck it up, too. [He needs you to tell him this, John. He's not sure why, but-- but if you can't recover, if you can't be derp and just a perpetual axis point for his rage and irritation, he won't be okay. And he can't not be okay right now.]
no subject
Dammit, Karkat. You yell at him to shut up, he actually does it and now you want him to talk? Make up your mind!]
I don't know.
[And that was the horrible truth. He had no idea. And no amount of choking down his feelings masked the slight waver in his voice.]
no subject
[Make a quip about how useless he is. Tell him it's his own stupid human fault that he fucked up! He fucked it all up in the first place, didn't he? He and his stupid paradox sister and her stupid rule-breaking dog and--]
[--and he couldn't even be angry about it anymore, it just wasn't happening and he sort of deflated and let go of John's shoulder and receded away a little.] Fuck.
[He tries again, shaking his head and making a gesture that looks like he intends to hit John.] Well that just cements it-- We're all a bunch of nooksuckingly retarded fuckups. That's all we're here for, obviously! To fuck up, and fuck up again, and just when it looks like things might work out, we get to fuck up all over again! And if we're not fucking up for ourselves, someone else is fucking everything up for us.
Fuck. [Karkat we know this is your favorite word, but really. Use a thesaurus.]
no subject
Fuck was a good way to put it. John, still facing away from him, leans against the wall. It was funny how different Karkat's view on it was so much different from Dave and Jade's earlier.]
[He took a deep breath.]
Time Compression sent me home last week. Jack was there.
He killed my Dad and Rose's mom. We were both so mad we went after him.
