Second Heart [Action]

[If there's one thing the Heartless knows, it's computers. The plus side of living inside one all your life is that you're very, very good with them. However, being outside the computers has managed to pique his curiosity to an almost alarming degree. Because, well... This place has a lot for him to learn from. Like books. Strange paper things that you read. And there's an entire room full of them! A library, it's called. Well, he's been in libraries before, and this is quite different from the ones he's used to. Well, unless you count the one from the data version of Hollow Bastion. But he'd never considered it a library as he'd had nothing to compare it to. But now, feeling the paper beneath his fingers and not-skin, there's a strange thrill running up and down his non-existent spine.

He sits beneath one of the desks, hidden amongst the shadows with the book set out in the light while he reads. Some sort of philosophy book, specifically the section about the metaphorical heart. ...It seems he can't deny that part of his nature, after all.]

[[OOC: Despite the icon, he's actually in Soraform.]]

[Goes to sit at one of those desks and gives a small, curious sound when her feet encounters something beneath it. Looks under and...]

WHAT IN HADES IS THAT?!

[Raises her book at it, as if to strike. HE'D BETTER SPEAK UP OR GRELL WILL SLAP SOME KNOWLEDGE INTO HIM, LITERALLY]

OH I'M SO GLAD TO HEAR THAT.

[personal profile] redcinemareel 2011-05-09 12:21 pm (UTC)(link)
PROVE IT.

[That book has not lowered even a centimeter.]

XD Grell has a knack for them.

[Hmm. He looks less shady when standing.]

Very well. [Lowers her book and carries it like any other patron] Perhaps you should use a chair next time?
redcinemareel: (Grell: Let's have a good time)

Such a charming boy you are~. [Taps her chin in thought] Today is your lucky day! How about you stay under there, and I'll use the desk?

[Grell...being nice. Take it or leave it.]
redcinemareel: (Grell: book smart)

[Somehow, some way, Grell always finds the naive ones. As well as make mental notes of them.

Pulls out the chair and sits, placing her book on coding for computers on the table and reads over some pages idly.]

Do try not to scuff my shoes, won't you, dear? I'd hate to have to KILL you.

Hmm? That's quite the question.

[Turns a page before thinking on it.]

Many people will tell you that it's what beats in your chest, but I disagree. It's much more than that. Personally, I believe it's life that makes your heart. The joy and pain...and SUFFERING, and bliss. [SIGHS]

[Peeks under the table with a wry smile]

I could go on, but it would be just a jumble of words. But...why do you ask?
redcinemareel: (Grell: over the red rim)

You can't just read about its importance. [Takes away that book for a moment.] You need happiness, joy, pain, sadness. [Taps the spine of the book] None of that will be in any old book!

My mother's philosophers liked to argue about the heart. On whether it housed the mind, or emotion, and things like that...

[No, he's not weirded out by the kid under the desk, what are you talking about.]

[identity profile] toomanyverses.livejournal.com 2011-05-10 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Mm... good afternoon.

[Now he's crouching down to get a better look at the book.] The heart is still strongly associated with emotion, at my house. Emotion, and spirit. I learnt that as a child, and now I can't forget it.

It's cool!

Like livelihood.

People are called lion-hearted, when they show that their spirits are as strong as lions.

Cowards are told that their hearts are weak, when their spirits falter, and so on...

[Just chills out nearby reading his own books. If he thinks this is remotely weird, it doesn't show in the least.]
