[Sazh is currently making his way through the lobby when his little chocobo jumps out of his hair and lands in his hand. He stops and looks at the little bird.]

You feel like looking at the scenery, don't you? Can't blame you. It's a nice day out. [Sazh pauses in thought.] You know, now that I think about it, you haven't grown much. [The chocobo tilts its head at Sazh's observation and, before Sazh can react, it lifts itself out of Sazh's hand and flies out of reach.]

Hey now! Where do you think you're going? [The chocobo ignores anything Sazh does to get its attention and instead flies toward anyone close by.]

[And so the chocobo flies around the shoulders of a tall, coat-wearing man, in a manner quite familiar to them both.]

[But not expected, to judge by the way Snow jumps.]

[He spins on his heels to look in the direction the bird had come from, a grin lighting up his face.]

[Sazh stops in his tracks at the sight of Snow.]

[Snow holds up a hand to give the chick a place to perch as he steps over to Sazh, then reaches out to give the other man a bro-hello in the form of a slap on the shoulder.]

I was beginning to wonder.

Hope and Vanille are here. They're students. Hope just got here, Vanille's been here a little longer.

[What else would be the first thing for Sazh to worry about besides the rest of their odd little family?]

[At Snow's remark, Sazh can't help but feel relieved.] Really now? That's actually pretty nice to hear.

[To Sazh, this next admission comes hesitantly. No one else had gotten anything but utter joy from Snow when he's said this, but Sazh... has a bit of a personal tie to this.]

[He grins broadly, but it weakens after a moment as an important question insists on being asked.]

[He lifts his left fist, palm in, to show the brand on his forearm. Whited out, like Fang's one was for so long, but still very much there.]

[Sazh leans forward to look at it.] It looks like Fang's.

Just like Fang's. Still works fine, too. That made things interesting when I first showed up here.

Ha! There was a monster harassing a village. I did the hero thing, of course -- [He punches his palm] -- and they started running from me! Next thing I know there's soldiers coming after me.

It was kinda familiar, honestly.

Except this time I actually managed to convince them I wasn't their enemy.

[It shouldn't even be surprising that he attempted to talk down an entire army again.]

It got me tied up in experiments on the l'cie brand for several months, but that wasn't really so bad. I learned some interesting things.

On using magic, and Eidolons. If it could be used against Sorceress magic, somehow, to fight her better than Guardian Forces and paramagic. Not too much came out of that that helped them, though it turns out you can Draw ice and water spells out of me. That figures.

[He smiles at the ice comment.] That would make sense.

And if you try to draw the Shiva sisters out of me, it hurts.

[Which was an understatement.]

But you know, once I learned how to junction magic, they work for it. I think there might be something to the idea that fal'Cie compare to Sorceresses a little. We don't really have either of them around to do much checking, though...
