so, i was wondering. say you turned 13 a week and a half ago but during that week and a half you get pulled to some weird time-warp dimension and your birthday is about to come again.

would that make me 14 somehow? is this some sort of psyche-out fake birthday? or do i get rights to celebrate it all over again? time loops are really confusing!

oh! also uh, mikuru! i found a piano! if you still wanted me to teach you a little let me know! i'm in one of the classrooms on the second floor.

[In a music room somewhere, John can be found seated at the above described piano, practicing away. It hadn't really been all that long, but it felt like ages since the last time he had sat down at one and played. There wasn't much he could do after Rose kind of dropped his piano on an imp back in Sburb.

The song that can be heard through the halls is a somewhat haunting refrain. Something taught to him probably by his Dad, pretty but a little sad too. Or maybe it was just because he really missed his Dad that it seemed sad.

[For the moment John does not notice this fiery blue bird! He keeps playing, with a happy smile on his face.]

[Inches up closer and then hops on top of the piano and peers down at him.]

[Okay now he totally sees you. He pauses for a moment to blink up at this bird on his piano.

And then he leans in to get a better look.]



[Oh hey was this one of those Guardian Force things? He grins and reaches out to pet it, yep!]

[ Or rather, she hears the song as she's passing by and decides to poke her head into the music room to see where it's coming from, or who is playing it. She stays in the doorway, just watching until he's done, and then claps her hands together. ]

[Whoa! Totally surprised to hear the clapping. He quickly turns around to see who's there. He doesn't recognize her so he can't help but feel a little embarrassed. He grins though in a sort of grateful butohgod kind of way.]

[SUDDEN CUPCAKE!!!! He blinks and looks over at the girl who just came in bearing the ...baked good. He's not sure who she is, but he's going to assume she saw his post on the forum about his birthday.]

[He smiles, despite this! Because even if cake and their smaller cake-like familiars are pure evil, this girl just did a really nice thing!]

[Mikuru smiles.] No problem. Happy maybe birthday! [The cupcake is actually from a batch Mikuru bought for her own birthday (today!) despite not really mentioning it to anyone.

[And then she remembers to introduce herself:] I'm Mikuru.

[Sharpay didn't even see his BBS post and was merely on her way to the music room to try something for next quarter's classes, but someone playing makes her curious, especially after she'd invited Rinoa to use the music rooms.

[She pauses in the doorway, leaning against the doorway with her arms crossed over a couple of books. After a few minutes she walks over to him, her heels clicking on the floor, and pulls up another chair by the piano stool.]

Who's it by? Or, well, are you from Earth? [It doesn't sound quite like any of this world's music that she covers in class.]

[He shrugs.] I don't know. My Dad taught it to me, so maybe he wrote it. And yeah, I'm from Earth.
