[ If you'd chanced upon the corridor heading to the dormitories today, you'd spot a seemingly lost looking... kid. Gender will be questionable. It's either a girl... or a pretty looking boy.

Either way, it has an ermine curled around her shoulders and at times, they seem to be talking... more of arguing.

Finally, the kid huffs and leans against the railing and turns her attention back to the paper she held. ]

Time compression, huh?

Doesn't really make a lick of sense to me, Ras but... whatever.

[ She folds her arms across her chest, pausing to pat the ermine's head as a sudden grin comes to her face. ]

We'll be fine!

[ Which fades as she sighs. ]

...I hope. Maybe.

[ Spacing out, she does this. Of course, the sudden voice pulls her from her spacing out and glancing at who'd joined her with a small sheepish grin. ]

Heh... pays to be positive and all that!

[ Nervous hair ruffle here. ]

Uh... hi. I'm... new.

[Congratulations, Shin, you're looking at a very tall elf with glowing blue eyes who absolutely reeks of death.]

Welcome to Garden. I'm Instructor Dragonsblood. How are you adjusting so far?

[ The mention of an instructor causes her to straighten up and dust herself off. ]

Uh... s... sorry! Didn't know you were an instructor.

[ And the same sheepish grin as she relaxes a little. ]

We're doing okay... just a little lost but we're fine!

[He laughs.]

Relax, I'm a lot looser than most. You can just call me Kurt, if you like.

Any questions? Anything you need?

[ Back to ruffling her hair. ]

Well... we were kinda trying to figure out where our dorm is and..

[ Eek. Totally forgot. ]

Oh! Oh yeah... uh.. I'm Shin and this is Raseth.

[ Headgesture to the ermine flopped onto her head like a sock. He rears his head slightly and raises a paw. ]

[ And flops back down after saying this. ]

...we? [Raises an eyebrow. Another person talking to themselves. Lovely.]

[ Shin perks up almost the same time as the ermine on her shoulder does. ]

Oh uh yeah. We.

[ Handmotion between her and the ermine. ]

Me an hi-

[ And she stops in mid sentence as the ermine leans over to take a few sniffs at Grell. ]

...what is that? [Grell keeps it real.] I thought it was just some weird accessory.

[Leans a bit back as whatever it is smells him.]

That's a bit RUDE to be doing. And I doubt she...he...no, definitely a she, doesn't wear the same perfume as I.

[ Pulling Ras back and holding a hand in front of his mouth now. ]

Uh... sorry bout that. He kinda tends to get carried away when meeting new people.

[ Of course, the ermine starts to struggle, eventually popping out of his owner's grip. ]

[ Shin now forever linefacing at her weasel. ]

...he? [Gives that THING a look.] I'm a lady, little one. Correct yourself, or I'll make a bag out of you.

[Pays attention to the girl.] What does your little friend mean by 'too'?

[ Ras now perpetually stunned, Shin manages to move him back to her shoulder with a nervous little laugh. ]

Sorry about that. Ras shoots his mouth off sometimes without thinking.

[ Now back to trying to explain things without being awk-- oh to hell with it. This lady's probably dead already or something if Ras sniffed her out. Shin assumes the position, back straight and with the best smile she can manage. ]

Yes, yes. Alright. [Eyes the creature once.]

...that's some introduction~! [Grins sharply] It sounds very official.

Grell Sutcliff, in charge of being FABULOUS and deadly. You may call me Grell.

[ Whoa, dem teeth. ]

[ Then you get a curious little headtilt. ]

So... how long've you been dead?

You remind me so much of Ronnie. Good thing I found him before Will got too deep into his veins. I'll do the same for you~.

[That question doesn't get asked. Ever.] For as long as I could remember, but how long is difficult to measure, don't you think?

[ It just dawned on her. ]

Whoa whoa whoa back up a sec there. You're one of us?

[ And here she thought Grell was just dead. ]

And who's Ronnie?

...I thought you would have caught on to the obvious by now. [The girl is obviously not adept at her job.]

And Ronnie is my protege. He has lots of potential to be as great as I.

W... well... can't say I met anyone else out of the department! I mean, it's just usually my brothers and me running the joint so to meet someone else who does the same job, it's really kinda stunning!

[ And a raised eyebrow from Ras tells her she's rambling again. The second sentence catches her attention though. ]

You must be some really high class reaper if I haven't metcha before...

[ ...awe now. For a lowly class c, this is something new. ]

Nice to meet you both. What's your dorm? I can take you to it.

Is this a family organization? Because I doubt we are from the same world, as I've not heard of you, and I know everyone in my office, darling.

[And Grell would have remember her, most definitely.]

Yeah, I guess that makes sense.

[ Not the brightest bulb in the box this one. ]

Well, I guess it's kinda a family business... but wow... there are reapers in other worlds, too?

I mean, well, obviously since people die all over the place...

[ She'll stop rambling now. ]

So... how long've you been here?

[ Trying to remember now which causes the ermine to facepalm... or facepaw as the case may be. ]

[It's a bit easy to tell. Grell will have a lot of fun with her.]

Obviously~. But it is refreshing to see others like myself. We'll be the closest of friends, won't we? [Already plotting to make a miniature version of himself.]

Almost a year. [SIGHS] Quite the whirlwind it's been. Balamb is...tolerable, if not boring. It has it's upside, though.

Easy enough.

[And Kurt will show her to her dorm. There, that wasn't so hard, was it?]
