[It might be odd to see the blood elf practicing with a Blaster Edge, but for tonight, that was the weapon she had chosen. Why? Because her single student had that as her weapon preference, and truthfully? It was not Katsura's first choice for a projectile weapon. She had always been most familiar with bows. Almost to the point where she might call herself biased.

So she had decided that it was probably best for her to brush up and reacquaint herself with one. And so she was.

I sort of figured that. Not that he may not in the future. I hope you considered that.

[Rinoa stumbles across Kat quite by accident. She's been practicing some of her newer gunblade techniques against a few of the local grats when she stumbles across the Instructor.

Naturally Shooting Star, her current Blaster Edge model, is currently strapped to her arm just in case she needs a weapon she's more familiar with. Namely if she stumbles upon a T-rexaur and can't escape right away.]

Instructor! [She smiles and waves, heading over to where Kat was standing.] Blaster Edge practice?

[It's a guess, but an educated one considering their time in class.]

Yes indeed. I figure since that was your preference, I had best brush up, since it isn't my specialty by any means. I want to do my best by anyone who takes my class.

Good thing it's not a hard weapon to learn then, right? I mean that's why I picked it up in the first place, because it didn't require a lot of training.

[She nods, smiling down at the gunblade that was resting casually on her shoulder.]

I thought it'd be good to learn something that works better in close quarter combat. It's been really hard to get used to, but I like it. I'm thinking on specializing in it even.

So long as you manage, sounds good to me. I know that there's always an element of danger in what we do, but I much prefer my students coming back to say hello. [Kat chuckles.]

Impressed with the gunblades, then? I liked a little more precision, I guess, but I've always admired their power, truth be told.

A little. Two of the best fighters I know use them. They also look really cool too, don't you think?

I have to admit, they do have some aesthetic lines about them. Far more attractive than some of the swords I've seen in my time.

[Because let's face it, while Armageddon *looked* awesome, it was ridiculous being dual-wielded by a gnome warrior, for example.]

Nicer than some of the bows and guns, as well.

There's just nothing quite like them. That's probably why so many people at least try them, before giving up when they realize just how much harder they are to master. [Unlike Rinoa who'd done a great job at buckling down and really giving it her all.]

Sometimes it's just difficult to teach an old dog new tricks. [Here, Katsura chuckles.]

As an instructor, I did get familiar with them, of course, but... [She shakes her head.] I much prefer the weapons of my youth, I suppose.
