[Rinoa's been having problems sleeping lately thanks to nightmares that seem to love interrupting her sleep at all hours. Due to this she's slowly turning into an insomniac, which would be fine if she didn't have herself on such a strict schedule.

That's probably why she's currently fast asleep despite the fact that she's just sitting under a tree in the Quad. In her arms there's a teddy bear that she brought with her when she came down to the Quad to think. Who would leave her an anonymous note that only said Sorry? She's not entirely sure, but she's hoping it was from Squall.

So yes, random girl sleeping under a tree in the quad with a teddy bear. Exciting post isn't it? How about shaking things up a little bit by waking her up, trying to draw on her face, or whatever seems like a good idea at the time.]

[It wakes her up alright, but it takes her a minute to gather herself together.]

Huh?

[Rubbing her eyes she looks around and realizes that she must have fallen asleep.]

Oops. Guess I was a lot more tired than I thought. Sorry Espio, I couldn't sleep so I came down here to think and apparently ended up falling asleep! Did you ask me something by the way? Because I'm not quite sure I remember what it was anymore.

How old am I? [Rinoa actually has to think about this for a moment.] Unless time compression made things really weird, I turn eighteen next month. I hadn't even realized. Thanks for asking Espio!

I didn't mean to fall asleep, but there's nothing wrong with taking a nap if you're tired. There's certainly nothing wrong with teddy bears either. Isn't he cute? [She smiles, hugging the bear close fondly.] He was a valentine's day present.

Well why not? It's a really nice day after all. There's nothing wrong with enjoying the sunshine and dozing off is there?

[She doesn't embarrass easily and she's certainly far from ordinary.]

That's right. Candy and a teddy bear. Pretty sweet of them don't you think?

[Hey roomie! Gabs noticed that she wasn't around, so she came down - yes, in her pajamas - to come down and look for Rinoa. Noticing her, Gabs sighs of relief before kneeling down and shaking her shoulders gently.]

Rinoa? Hey? You okay?

[Gabriella is so lucky that she's not as bad as she used to be about waking up. At least she doesn't scratch at people anymore.]

Huh? Gabriella? What's wrong! [She's stumbling to her feet all the while only to realize that they were in the Quad and her roommate was wearing pjs. Oh. Oops?] Nothing's wrong. I couldn't sleep so came down here to think and... apparently fell asleep? Sorry if I worried you. I was just trying to figure out who sent me this bear, that's all.

[she shakes her head] I'm just glad it's not past curfew or anything. I didn't want us to land a detention just for thinking, you know?

Wait. Someone sent you a bear? That's... pretty nice of them. You don't have a boyfriend, right?

One detention couldn't hurt, could it? [Rinoa smiles.] Just think of it as an adventure. I'm pretty sure if you get a detention or not depends on if you get caught and who catches you anyway.

[Some of their instructors were nicer than others after all. The same went for members of the disciplinary committee.]

And some candy too. [She gives the bear a fond squeeze, burying her face in it's soft fur for a moment.] That's right, so trying to narrow it down can be pretty tough.

[Not really, she's pretty sure it's from Squall so that's a pretty narrow field.]

It'd hurt my record. [Oh Gabriella--straight A+ student isn't going to change anytime soon.] I mean, yeah, it's an adventure, but I'd like a clean record when I graduate.

Hmmm... and I guess it's not obvious who has a crush on you here? [yep, took her words at face value] That would make it difficult. I know Troy would've made it super-obvious by like, putting basketballs everywhere or something.

[Gabs would've definitely mentioned Troy before now: he's her boyfriend and her duet partner and... she might've rambled about him for a while.]

I don't think they'd hold one detention against you. [Rinoa on the other hand, people could take the girl from the rebel group easy enough, but taking the rebel group from the girl might be a little harder.]

I'm not even sure if it's that. There was a note that said sorry attached. [By now she's probably swapped at least a few stories about guys with Gabriella since the other girl had been fairly open about talking about Troy.] I want to think it's from Squall, but what if it isn't?

[Not just because maybe it showed he did care on some level, but because he'd actually thought to apologize about what had happened.]

[He kicks her leg slightly if only to poke her awake. He could have been mean. He should have been mean.] Slacking off, aren't we? You have a bed, go sleep there.

[She stirs slightly in her sleep, arms tightening around the teddy bear she's holding unconsciously. Rinoa's never been a morning person so waking up isn't exactly her favorite thing in the world. It's a good thing Seifer's not someone trying to hurt her, because she's more or less wide open.]

Just five more minutes. [She mutters shifting onto her side a little, eyes not even opening.]

You've had more than that. [Seifer crouches down next to Rinoa and pokes her.] Stop slacking around.

[Rinoa blinks then, squinting up at Seifer blearily.] Seifer? What are you doing in my..

[She realizes that no, this isn't her room at all. Her bed is, after all, way softer than a tree.]

That's right, I came down here to think because I couldn't sleep. Guess I ended up falling asleep after all. Oops?

[Tifa's been out getting a bit of fresh air in the quad when she spots Rinoa under the tree. She stops, tilting her head slightly. There had to be a reason why the girl was there, after all.

After a moment, Tifa closes the distance, and lays a hand on Rinoa's shoulder.]

Maybe your room would be a better place, sweetie.

[Rinoa stirs a little, hold loosening on the bear to rub one eye before she blinks up at the stranger almost owlishly.]

Sorry. I didn't mean to fall asleep.

[She sits up, stretching a little as she slowly starts to wake up.]

[Tifa straightens, looking upwards to the sky.] Still sun out, so I'm guessing later in the day.

At least I didn't break curfew. [She smiles and then stands up.]

Sometimes. I've had a lot of homework lately. [Not the reason at all, but she's not really the sort of person to open up to a stranger.] You're one of the Instructors, right?

[Luki crouches down beside the girl. A funny idea occurs to her, but she decides to check if she's partially awake first. She speaks quietly. If the girl's just shutting her eyes for a bit, she'll respond. If she's asleep, it's quiet enough that she probably won't stir.]

Hey.

[Pulling out some washable markers, Luki decides to have a little fun.]

Gues who's so not going to be a happy camper when she wakes up?

[Rinoa shifts a little at the voice, but doesn't wake up. After a moment she settles back down again with a sleepy grumbled sound.

The markers won't wake her up either. Though she'll certain fuss, make faces, and swat at them in her sleep.]

Luki will have fun with it anyhow. XD
