Round Two | action, Quad

[It's late at night - close to curfew - and Tom's sitting on the grass in the Quad. Beer bottle in hand, he counts the stars before chugging down another sip or two. There's actually a lot of things wrong with this picture: for one thing? Tom's still on alcoholic probation. As in, he's not supposed to touch the stuff.

Yet he did. And he's currently on his second bottle. Crap.

Tom's not really one for talking - especially when he's in werekitty form - so he won't notice people right away. Still, it's a little hard to miss a 6' tall werepanther casually chugging beer like there's no tomorrow. He looks up at the sky again, double-checks the number of stars, and then... takes another sip.

So much for upholding his promises.]

[He steps back. Tandy might have good intentions, but he doesn't trust her just yet.] I'm not trying to be skeptical, but what exactly do you mean by "help?"

Purification. Hold still. [She raises her hands, spreading her fingers...as lights sparks at the tips of her fingers...]

[Oh hell no. Tom's seen a lot in his day, but literal purification? He jumps up.]

That's what they all say. I'm sorry, Tandy, but I don't think I'm ready for this "purification" yet.

[The light on her fingertips disappear.] Sorry. I've been doing this for so long, it just comes to me without much thought. [She feels embarassed.]

[He shakes his head, finally dropping his paws] Nah, it makes sense. I just... give me some time, okay? I'll do it. I promise. Just... just not right now.

It kind of feels like it cheats me out of the process of doing it all by myself. [That, and he really doesn't like the look of those daggers.]

You...you have a point. [She rubs the back of her neck anxiously.] I don't know. I'm used to doing this for minors on the streets. The ones who...get addicted to drugs and alcohol and need help.

Everyone needs help. [at this, he looks thoughtful] And I'm sure those kids're grateful.

So don't stress about it too much. I'd just be careful about doing it here. The superhero hate was never bad in my world, but the hate for all superpowered people - regardless of the power - is pretty intense outside of Garden.

No? That's rough.

... Inside Garden, things're different. People accept us for who they are, since a lot of us come from different worlds and times. It's not as bad as people make it out to be.
