[Standing in the lobby, casually leaning against a directory, is the masked and cloaked figure of this Mysterious Ninja SeeD.]

[His purpose is twofold. First, to observe. The Garden had changed a lot, after all -- not in appearance or anything so superficial, but in composition. With new cadets and new Instructors, he had to get a handle on the pulse of this microcommunity quickly -- and what better way to do that than simply to watch the people?]

[Second... well, he's here to look cool. That's -- that's always important, right?]

[For someone who isn't so use to seeing random ninjas just lounging around Garden? Well... Edge's presence can be a bit alarming, especially with the way he's both cloaked and masked.

Quistis is making her way out of the library when she spots the figure in the distance-- not familiar with such a person (nor is there any hint of their affiliation with Garden as she can't tell whether or not he's wearing a uniform beneath his cloak), she carefully approaches the male.]

[Well. THIS excursion is off to a good start. Edge's eyebrows lift slightly; he's probably smiling behind that mask.]

If my problem was a lack of a lovely lady to look at, you already have.

[Hmm. Actually...] Actually, it was, but that isn't why I'm here.

[He turns slightly away, crossing his arms. It'd be a perfect pose if he had some wind to blow out his cape.]

Edge -- King of Eblan, heir to the Eblan ninja clan, SeeD. I've been away for a while... but my mission is over and there's trouble on the wind, so I'm here where I'm sure to be needed.

[It takes a brief moment for his rather elaborate introduction to settle in. At first, she was rather put off but this mild attempt at flirtation-- but the mention of his apparent title of royalty as well as the fact that he was a SeeD has her a bit curious.]

Oh, I'm sorry about that-- I haven't seen anyone quite like you around so I wasn't sure if you were someone from the school or not.

[With that, she holds her hand out in greeting for a polite handshake.]

Quistis Trepe-- I'm a SeeD as well. It's a pleasure to meet you.

[He almost reaches past her hand as he extends his own -- being more accustomed to clasping forearms in the manner of warriors. But all that SeeD training hadn't just been paramagic and junctioning, after all, so he catches himself to make the handshake properly before it veers into awkward territory.]

[Quistis nods-- while she still hasn't gone through the procedure to try and re-certify herself as an Instructor, the topic isn't as sore as it had once been.]

That's true-- it seems like most of the SeeDs these days have gone ahead to apply for instructorship, perhaps because there aren't as many missions required of Garden. However, I'm just a SeeD.

Are you planning to apply for an instructors' license?

[Huh, a ninja. Mia doesn't hesitate to walk over to him and offer some directions. Or well, a helping hand. He kinda reminds her of the people of her village - kinda - so she's not terribly frightened. That, and Garden's totally ruined her weirdo-meter.]

I'm Mia. [offers her hand for a handshake] Likewise, I'm a SeeD and a Criminal Justice and International Law instructor.

[He almost botches the handshake, it being a gesture he's unused to, but he catches himself and performs it properly with only seconds to spare before his dignity is imperiled!]

Mia? That's a name as easy to hear as you are to look at. I did hear that a lot of the SeeDs had taken teaching positions lately, with more students coming in.
