[Ah. Crap. Robin sees that post, alright, and he's not particularly happy about it.

He'll sneak into Aang's room through one of the windows. Since it's closed, however, he does the logical and sane thing: he taps on it. And is completely oblivious to the fact that he could've just used the door.]

[Aang is confused when he hears the noise on his window; when he looks over, he's shocked to see Robin, upside down, outside of it. He had been expecting a knock on his door, not his window. Still, he's happy Robin came, so with a smile, he opens the window for him.]

I'm glad you're here! But...you could have used the door, you know. [He steps to the side to let the other boy through.]

[He casually climbs in and lands on the floor. Opening his carabiner and taking the rope off him, Robin then tugs on the rope and completely brings it in before addressing his friend.]

Doors're for weaklings. [Yep, he remembered the voice distorter like always.] What'd you wanna talk to me about?

[As Robin's doing all this, Aang closes the window behind them.]

Um, you see... It's kind of funny--well, not really, but-- I think I know who you are. I mean, your identity. [He swallows after his nervous confession. He has no idea how Robin will react to what he just said.]

[wait, what?]

... Is that so? [The guy's clearly nervous, but if even Aang put two and two together---the rest of Garden wasn't far behind. Crap.] What makes you say that?

Well, for instance-- [Aang hesitates, remembering; a hand rubs the back of his neck as he concentrates on transferring his thoughts to words. He had rehearsed this earlier, but now his mouth seemed to be running on autopilot.] Your voice, and the way you talk. And your mask doesn't make much of a difference when your face looks the same...

But don't worry! I won't tell anyone, I promise! [This is genuine. He has no desire to out Robin to all of Garden.]

[Note to self: buy bigger goggles. And actually learn this world's slang. Frag, Batman was going to kill him...]

That's not what I'm concerned about, zift. [sighs] So, tell me. Who do you think I am?

[He breathes deeply. It wasn't going too bad so far.] ...Damian?

[WELL. If he guessed right, there was no reason in pretending any longer. Carefully, Damian turns the distorter off as he pulls his humongous goggles off his face.]

... Yeah. I'm sorry about lying to you.

[Aang sighs in relief and smiles at him.]

It's okay. I understand why you had to do it.

[eyebrow raise] Do you really? Most people around here don't.

When the Fire Nation was hunting the Avatar, my friends and I had to hide who we were or else we'd get attacked. And because they knew what we looked like, we had to hide all the time.

I know it's not the same, but I understand.

[Sigh. Damian can try to hate this guy all he wants, but it's kind of impossible.]

... I guess. [fiddles with his goggles] It's kind of the same, in a way. Except I have to hide who I am so my friends won't get attacked too.

It's... different here in Garden. ["It scares me."] Everyone's able to fight for themselves.

My friends have been attacked because of me. It's horrible. [He feels guilty just admitting it.] So you can trust me not to tell anyone.

They might be strong, but they definitely won't be able to defeat both of us. If you're in trouble, I can help. [With this, Aang gives him a smile and a gentle hand on his shoulder. Their friendship is officially at the point where Aang will fight for him regardless of the danger.]

I know you won't. I just... It's a big deal back home. [It's the principle of the matter that irritates him! Secret identities're supposed to be secret for a reason.]

... Really? I mean, uh. Of course you will. [trying not to sound so eager!] Also, you're. Kinda the first person to know around here.

Worse than here, you mean?

Of course. You're my friend. [Another smile.] I am?

[nods] People wouldn't just attack me if they knew I was Robin; they'd openly try to kill me.

[Damian can't help returning that smile, even if it's a slight one] Yeah. Not even my "bodyguard" Luki's gotten it.

[His eyes widen.] That's really bad.

Wow. Well, I am really good at guessing people's true identities! [He's thinking back to that crazy guy guy on the polluted island.]

It's pretty rough, but you get used to it after a while. [shrugs]

[Okay, he can't help smirking. Day clearly has no clue what Aang's talking about, but...] You can see right through people's crap, that's what it means. I'm gonna have to step up my game.

Yeah... [He doesn't really want to mention he's been through that too.]

Does that mean you're gonna get a new costume?

[looks alarmed at the thought] Ya Allah, no. I can't afford a new costume.

I was thinking more along the lines of "bigger goggles" and more differences between Robin and... Damian. [shrugs] You said I talk the same, right? I should probably change my speech patterns and stuff.

Was it expensive?

It's more like...the words you use. Like "schway!" [It feels weird saying it, but he's happy he remembered it.]

Kind of. The tech alone's about 5 million creds. [sheepish shrug] I don't have that kind of gald on me.

... [he laughs] So I've gotta learn this world's slang. That's zidgit, but manageable. What else? I need to act dumber too, right?

What do you have in that costume? [He stares at it, wide-eyed.]

I wouldn't say..."dumber," exactly. Maybe just different!

[holds up his fingers and starts counting-he's going a little fast to cover it in one breath.] Batarangs. Eavesdropping tech. Smoke bombs. Invisibility tech. It's a suit coated with kevlar and other materials to make it resistant to fire, water, and electromagnetic attacks. Electromagnetic pads in my boots and glove fingertips. A Bluetooth earbud and basic radio for communication. Retractable claws. Night vision goggles.

... But yeah. I can't afford any of this stuff in Garden.
