[For the regular denizens of Balamb Garden, it's an ordinary day...until more off-worlders start showing up, for only a few hours at a time. Unsure what to make of these more temporary visitors, the Garden faculty is holding off on registering them as cadets or offering them jobs.

[Maybe someone you know might turn up?]

Mod note, to reiterate:

Fourth wall characters can only be seen at certain hours of the day. They may appear for two hours a day, or four... or seen only in the early morning... the time doesn't matter to us, but they're not permanently here. They may return to Garden multiple times over this fortnight, but they're not around 24/7.

Like apped characters, fourth wall characters can't be ridiculously-sized. Transformers, Gundams, and similar concepts/characters will become human-sized (and in the case of mechas, not allowed altogether.)

Players (like you and me) are not allowed to visit Garden. We're breaking the fourth wall, not destroying it altogether!

Apart from this post, fourth wall characters are free to reply to open posts in witchesreign tagged with *post type: event or open logs in concoursec. WR players have the option of closing their posts to in-game characters only.

All BBS posts are locked to in-game characters only. 4th wall characters do not have access to any sort of logged in posts unless they hijack someone else's log-in---and in those cases, we need to know this beforehand.

And a new note: Fourth wall characters applied to the game have the option of keeping the memories of their fourth wall visit(s) here. Threads from the fourth wall event may also be used as samples.

For those unfamiliar with the setting, here is more info on Balamb Garden's facilities and layout. Additionally, some of the NPCs around and some player characters may be wearing Balamb Garden's cadet or SeeD uniform.

Apparently it has. You have been gone for months by the way time has been running here.

[She kind of feels bad for that so she'll give him another chance. Way too forgiving]

Slag. [Figures it'd been a ridiculously long time. Time had passed for him back home as well, but not quite to the same extent...]

At least the world hasn't exploded or anything... War hasn't happened yet, has it?

We did have a group attack the Garden. And there are off-worlders causing problems. And you missed the mandatory training sessions at the Island Closest to Heaven.

[Not she thinks he was old enough to join in]

... Island Closest to Heaven? You had to go there?

[He makes a face.] Off-worlders causing problems are kind of the least of your problems if that actually happened.

Yes, we had to go there. It was part of a training exercise during break.

After that, I would say yes, off-worlders are the least of our worries.

I'm gonna have a talk with Headmaster. Surely he wasn't the one responsible for that misstep.

Well, the theory behind it seemed to make sense, but I still think there might have been a different way to do it.

Figures. Zabala's ideas can be the worst sometimes.

[There's a small pause, before he remembers to add:] You're Starfire, right? Doc's... ["wife?"] um, Mr. Grayson's... lover?

[He has really no clue what to call her, and it's more than a little obvious.]

It was a good challenge, but I don't think the best thought out.

Yes, I am Starfire. Lover? We are just teammates when I came from. Dolphin says that we get together though.

She's right. [Crap, now he just potentially ruined the future.] You kind of stay together for a long time where I come from. A really long time.

[He nods, holding out his hand expectantly.] Then you should call me Damian - I'm Damian Razem, but only Boss calls me by my last name.

[Meh Dolphin had done that too. She chuckles with a small smile] I'm glad to hear that.

[She offers her hand in return to shake his] Damian. You call me Kory, short for Koriand'r.

[He shakes her hand quickly and firmly, before looking up at her. It's weird, now that he thinks about it - he's met Doc before, but never Doc's wife.] Got it.

I don't know how long I'll be here, but you're a SeeD, right? Or a Cadet?

[curiouseyes]

I'm still a cadet. I probably know enough of the skills to be a SeeD, but I never learned a lot of things that they are teaching.

[bratbeyond]

No one ever does. They give us a map of the world and expect us to know just where the slag Winhill is. [He folds his arms, maybe a little too defiantly.] Why would I want to know where that is? It'd be like, I don't know, sending us to some small town in Kansas.

[curiouseyes]

That's true. It's easy enough to look up with a map so it seems strange that we would have to take a class on it. But some of them, like math, I never really learned even back home.

[bratbeyond]

It's not just the map - it's the culture and the customs that go with... [Wait. Did she just say...]

... You never took math? How was that possible?

[curiouseyes]

Well, I did learn some but it was not as complicated as what they want us to know here. Before I went for training with the Warlords of Okaara, I learned basic math, but... not much after that.

[For more reasons than just they wouldn't teach her]

Oh.

[He still doesn't get it, but he's sure going to feign that he does.] Math's important for money and architecture and slag, but not so much for fighting, I guess.

[curiouseyes]

No, not so much for fighting. There were other reasons, but... It's not important.

I can't imagine myself being an architect.
