Well, wasn't that assembly a waste of everyone's time? I suppose not for any of you that got demoted, but for the rest of us. Regardless, the Commander's announcement does come at a perfect time.

If you want to work for someone who can actually manage their finances, I have started up my own company, Wayne Enterprises, which is modeled after my family's multi-billion dollar corporation back home.

Unlike most companies, Wayne Enterprises understands the importance of working with the community, and is one of the quickest growing companies to hire out-of-work Balambians. It also makes an effort to give back to the community under the Bruce Wayne foundation, a charity subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises.

Currently, Wayne Enterprises is working to restore decaying or failing companies in the fields of airship production, medical care, and technology. When you put it that way... :( Yeah, I primarily work on stats. I'm decent with accounting and could try some financial stuff, but it wasn't my focus.

If you call a corporation that had a group of people specifically to kidnap and assassinate people as shady, sure. But you kinda have no choice when they're the only real company in the world.

I can't say I'll have much use for kidnapping or assassination, but I'm not naive enough to think that in order to keep this business thriving I won't need people with less than squeaky clean backgrounds. Father may have preferred it that way, but I am not my father.

I'm in the process of creating a classified department where someone with your skills would be useful. It's partially autonomous with little paper trail and little contact with the public face so I can deny your ties to Wayne Enterprises should any of you screw up. I want to make sure that whatever my company comes out with doesn't end up in the wrong hands, especially with this backwater world so on the verge of global war.

Bodyguards, too, y'know. You never know what kind of people may want your head on a platter, simply because they don't like the way you look or speak.

As for your... department, that sounds a hell of a lot like what I'm used to dealing with, particularly with a lack of paper trail and public face. People knew who we were by outfits, but not who we were specifically. And, hell, anyone could wear a damn black suit, so there was no real way of keeping track of who was and wasn't in our tiny little group.

No worries on the global war, I'm used to having to deal with that kind of shit. Though replace "war" with "world dying" and "psychotic madman trying to destroy the planet".

Just what kind of engineers are you looking for?

Preferably mechanical engineers, but if you can build things and have vision for useful things, I'll consider anything.

I've researched a bit of both mechanical and chemical engineering while I took those classes. (I'm still a student, but hopefully I'll be done soon.)

Also, I think I might have my parents' notes somewhere in my belongings; they helped rebuild the Dollet Radio Tower. I'm aware that's old tech, but it can always be revamped and built upon. I see no reason why that information shouldn't be shared, not to mention who knows what else I'll find.

It depends. What's your specialty in computer science? I don't need programmers until the nexy phase of expansion.

I do make programs and improve upon them, but I most enjoy what some call 'hacking'. Such brutal terminology for something so...flat.

I find myself with more free time than I'd like, so I take the liberty of exploring some of the technology here and finding ways to make them better, like our laptops.

[Since she was the one of a few other computer scientist specialist fixing them a couple of months ago.]

I'm also not afraid to get a bit dirty for work.

I take it your skill set is piracy related?

More money laundering and squirreling funds actually.

My Pops was a pirate emperor so we weren't disrupting shipping lines or anything like that, more the opposite. It's the great age of pirates in my world, so there are enough of them around that a small fortune -- or at least enough to keep operations running -- can be made by taking down other pirates and protecting ships going through our territories.

I was unaware pirates had emperors, but I suppose every world has their own... quirks.
