.001 ♛ [ACTION/OPEN]
[ Garden was huge. That was the first thing he noticed. Big, but easy to navigate, something that could be appreciated. But it wasn't the size that really interested him, but what they did with all that space. The second he heard about the "Training Center" Akihiko knew where he had to go, even if it was only his second night.
The halls were growing quieter as the more studious when to study and the tired went to sleep. But Akihiko? He felt like he was ten years old again. Cracking his knuckles, he walked the route he had memorized earlier; green signs, he noted that. A few people were leaving, but he paid them no mind.
Needless to say, he was expecting something more like a gym, something he was used to, but...the scene looked more like it came straight out of an action movie. Tall, metal gates were only hinting at what it had to keep behind them. He could faintly hear the scuffle of wildlife off in the distance, something that definitely wasn't human.
Was this even a good idea...?
He pushed the button that unlocked the door. A gust of air met him in the face. Akihiko blinked, brows furrowing slightly as he stepped through the gateway.
And was met with a weird...plant-like creature, waving its arms in the air wildly.
He cracked his knuckles again.
Oh hell yeah, this was a good idea. ]
(( OOC; So, open to anyone! He...will want to be running around punching things, so any enemies are open game. ))

A third of your weight is in the top half of your body. Putting too much pressure on any injuries could make them worse. Try to keep your back straight. [ With that explanation, Akihiko slowly stands back up, careful to try and keep her in the same position. Once he's on his feet, he makes his way over to the rock he had noticed earlier. ]
There's an infirmary, right? Maybe we should take you there instead.
no subject
She looks like she wants to object...But can't really argue with the logic of keeping weight off her ribs. Instead, she nods in response to the infirmary. And, to stave off any chance of letting her back go slack, finds herself searching for another thing to talk about.]
"So then. You've managed to show up and land yourself in trouble in record time, it seems."
[To say nothing of his clothing. That torn up sleeve gets a critical look.]
"I...Can't say that I expected any of that when I went to the Training Center."
no subject
Luckily they're not that important with Mitsuru. If there's one person he trusts the most it's her. Next to Shinji--whose death he is still coping with to some degree--she would be one of his closest friends. In turn, that meant he wasn't about to just leave her in the Training Center (even if that's what he would have wanted if he were in her position).
A change of course was in order. Akihiko pauses, looking over his shoulder past the T-Rexiscle, then decides to head back to the entrance. Taking it slow, he didn't want to make her injuries worse.
He gives a soft snort at her light scolding. ]
I wasn't really expecting to run into a dinosaur. [ But let's face it, the words "Training Center" were something that Akihiko just could not ignore. ] I guess that gives me a new goal to work towards.
no subject
"...Akihiko. As much as I appreciate your drive, I'd rest easier knowing that you aren't picking fights with theropods late at night."
[She's just...Not going to remark on the fact that she was also out, late at night, doing some pseudo Tartarus training.]
"At the very least, you should avoid taking any risks until you get a feel for this place. Caution should be exercised the most, right now."
no subject
Yeah, I know. [ It was a goal, not the first step. When he could handle one of those things on his own he would feel accomplished. If that meant punching a bunch of random Grats until dawn, then so be it. As long as he saw results, then his time wasn't wasted. ]
Is that all that's in here? Bugs and dinosaurs? [ Granted that seemed like a wide enough array as it was...
He nudged the automatic latch to the gate, letting the large metal doors draw back before he stepped through. Infirmary it was. The hallway echoed with each step he took, large and empty. ]
How long have you been here?
no subject
[Again, she reminds herself that keeping her back straight is both a necessary thing...As well as still being reflexive.]
"That should...Roughly be the length of how long I've been here. Long enough to complete one semester of classes here, at the very least. Thus far without too much physical injury."
[She can't help but shift a little as she says that, but tries not to put too much weight on his arms.]
"Artemisia is...Starting to fall into line as well, as you've seen. Something about the transition here seems to have affected my Persona. The same seems to be true for the others, as well."
[At which point she trades out her expressions for something different. Now she's giving him a scrutinizing look, seeing if calling on Caesar has affected him, in anyway.]
no subject
Funny, how in one night he could mess up her good record. ]
Yeah, it's not just you. [ He had noted something was off immediately when he woke up, Evoker aside. Normally his Persona's presence was always there, hanging in the back of his mind. It was comforting, in a way, how he had grown used to it. But then it felt like he was trying to talk through water. Movements were slow, words were muffled. The fact that Caesar had appeared at all was probably due to the desperation of the moment.
What could make this happen, though, was what interested him. He wouldn't simply call it another dimensional thing, because that seemed like a cop-out answer. What about this place was making it difficult for them? Truth be told, his fingertips were still tingling from the Zio spell Caesar had managed, but he had ignored any and all signs in favor of getting her the proper attention to her injuries. ]
I noticed it when I arrived. But...it was still surprising to see you summon her without an Evoker. [ He wouldn't have thought of it himself, not right then.
Once out in the main hallway, also large and empty, Akihiko took a right and started the trek towards the infirmary. ]
It's down here, right?
no subject
[He didn't look like he was going to fall over or pass out, either; all in all, good things to see. Especially since she wasn't certain how she was going to manage walking the rest of the way, otherwise.]
"Summoning without an Evoker takes some getting used to. And truly, it was a shock when I arrived here. But there doesn't appear to be too many ill effects, beyond a touch of disorientation. And..."
[It wasn't the easiest thing to say 'and you might be risking memory loss.' Particularly after everything else that had happened, or had been lost. She glanced up, away from trying to read his expression and took a look at where they were. The heavy foliage, doors, and blank hallway had been replaced by the main hub of Balamb Garden. This late, she could easily hear the water pouring out of the fountains that ringed the walkway.]
"Yes. It shouldn't be too far; barely a third of the circle needs to be covered and-
Oh."
[Naturally, one of the faculty was stationed at the spoke leading off to the infirmary. Not the most welcoming sight.]
no subject
And--?
[ But he cut himself off when she stopped mid-sentence. That was when he noticed the faculty blocking the entrance as well. Akihiko stopped dead in his tracks. ]
Wait, what? Why would they close off the infirmary if they're going to let people train all night? [ Really, that didn't make sense to him. What if someone hadn't come prepared? Or if they got hit by a two-story tall lizard. ]
Dammit! [ He couldn't just leave knowing that she was injured, especially because it was his fault. ] Are we just gonna have to wait until morning?
no subject
[She said that in what was only a slightly ironic tone. Yes, S.E.E.S. arguably had fought tougher things...But usually with more then two people, and with a much stronger arsenal of spells.
After that, she shook her head, and looked down the walkway.]
"Unfortunately I-"
[She almost bit down on her tongue, before shifting in his arms as her ribs complain again. This wasn't the easiest of positions to hold...And that small bit of knowledge that she was completely relying on his arms to hold her up didn't make it any easier.]
"...I think the dorms are our only option at this point. I don't want to get into trouble with the school. And resting on a bed is still a step up from being carried."
[Mitsuru paused after saying that, realizing that didn't sound all that grateful, or appreciative. She broke off from staring down the walkway to look back up at him.]
"My apologies. I...Do appreciate your help, Akihiko."
no subject
Alright, alright, I get it. [ In his defense, Akihiko didn't go into the Training Center to fight dinosaurs. He didn't even know the Training Center had dinosaurs.
Akihiko shook his head, looking down at her. ]
What are you apologizing for? It's my fault you're a mess. [ He sighed, giving the infirmary lone last glance before turning to head back for the dorms. ]
I'll make sure you get in first thing in the morning.
no subject
[She was able to look him in the eye when she said that. Much as she appreciated the other S.E.E.S. members, and valued them...Admitting a fault with them could often feel like she was trying to haul a boulder up Tartarus. With Akihiko it was-
Actually, it was more like carrying a smaller boulder up Tartarus. But the distinction was still there.]
"My thanks, Akihiko. I can direct you to my dorm, instead."
I was going to do this last night... but I passed out instead. ;;
Rinoa's currently sprawling out on her bed, nose neatly buried in a book as she study's for biology class. While she might not be as hard core about studying as Mitsuru, she does take her grades seriously which means she tends to spend a couple hours every afternoon hitting the books. She still found time to be a teenager and hang out with other people though, which is a lesson entirely too many cadets could stand to learn.]
\o/
Taking her directions, Akihiko passed what was supposed to be his dorm room and made his way to hers. Considering he was holding the person in charge (or so he believed) in his arms, Akihiko didn't bother knocking...
...and subsequently walked right into the common area carrying one Mitsuru Kirijo bridal style. ]
\o\ And thread tracking is on!
And then she realized that Heartilly was still awake, and could easily see through her doorway to the common room. Right as the door swung shut behind them with a creak and an audible 'k-thnk'.
...
...Perhaps Heartilly would just remain intent on studying. Or suddenly become selectively blind and deaf. Normally, Mitsuru would be pleased to see that her roommate was intent on classes, but at the moment, she found herself wishing that the other girl was either in bed or passed out at her desk.]
Re: \o\ And thread tracking is on!
Since her roommate wasn't the sort to bring guys back to their room for romantic rendezvous that left only one option. Something had happened. Leaving her book where it was on her bed, Rinoa hurried into the common room face already set into a frown.]
What happened?
no subject
That was a little awkward, as well as the fact there was more moonspeak involved than he could successfully comprehend very quickly. "What happened?" It took him a minute.
Akihiko glanced from Mitsuru to Rinoa. ]
Tu...tureiningu-- [ "Training" as he could successfully pronounce it. That would make sense, right? He didn't really know how to say "I was ambushed by a Dinosaur and Mitsuru got tail-whipped." ]
no subject
And, once she realized that it was up to her to do the talking, Mitsuru gathered up as much dignity as she could while being carried. (In other words, not very much. But it was still the thought that counted.) When she did speak, it was first in English.]
"My apologies for the disturbance...And I believe some introductions are in order, before explaining. Miss Heartily, this is Akihiko Sanada. He's from my world, and is a long standing ally and friend. He is also, however, sadly out of practice with his skills in English."
[Then, she turned back to look at Akihiko, and switched languages.]
"Akihiko, this is Rinoa Heartilly, my roommate. I had been...Hoping to avoid a meeting with her like this, but there's nothing for it. I can handle the conversation and translation."
[Then, back to Heartilly and English.]
"I encountered him in the training center...Along with a dinosaur. We were victorious over it but...Unfortunately, I let my guard down at a crucial moment."
no subject
Really, the novelty of seeing Mitsuru in some guy's arms would have to wait. Not that she wouldn't tease her roommate about it later mind you.]
So let me get this straight, you ran into a T-rexaur? No wonder you're hurt!
[Turning to Akihiko, she pointed towards Mitsuru's bed, keeping it as simple as possible.] Bed.
[Turning back to Mitsuru she pursed her lips thoughtfully before deciding just what she needed to do.]
I'm not Dr. Kadowaki, but I'll go ahead and heal you as best as I can. That way you can at least sleep comfortably until morning when you can go to the infirmary.
[Really, Mitsuru's just lucky that Rinoa's got a high magic stat and happens to have more than the beginner magic most cadets have.
Not wasting time, she headed into Mitsuru's room knowing that they'd follow before turning around.]
Next time, make sure you have some Sleep spells drawn. They're really vulnerable to them, blind isn't too bad either if you have any on hand.
[She is after all, well traveled and quite a bit more battle experienced than most people would assume. Not to mention it's likely Quistis has had entirely too much fun lecturing her about battle tactics in the past.]
