♥ [Action/Quad/Open] my depth perception must be off again
(ooc: I meant to post this ages ago and for one reason or another just haven't gotten around to it yet. This is backdated forever and ever and ever ago to after this post)
[Rinoa sits curled around Angelo in a shady, tree filled corner of the Quad, her face buried in the dog's furry ruff as she just sits and well pouts? Mopes? Sulks? Cries? There were any number of words that could be used to describe her current behavior and most of them fit. However, if someone were to look for it they'd see the tell-tale sign of tear tracks on the cadets face as well as the dampened portions of Angelo's furbut thankfully not enough to trigger much of a damp dog scent.
Her face still buried against the dog her voice was muffled as she voiced her complaint, thinking that only Angelo could hear her.]
Why's he such a jerk?
[Maybe she had taken some things for granted and just assumed they were true, but he didn't have to be so cold about it. It was becoming painfully clear that what meant the world to her was more or less nothing to him. The more she thought about it the more it hurt and the more upset she became. ]
[Anyone's more than welcome to stop by and bother girl and dog new and old CR alike.]

You're probably right. [She sighs, toying with the rings on her necklace again. If it was like that why hadn't he just taken Griever back ages ago? Men were so confusing sometimes.]
He told me about what happened that night, what really happened and not what the gossip column said.
no subject
Oh. She actually heard about what happened. Irvine doesn't know, but he's not going to pry for details. ]
I'm guessing that didn't end too well.
no subject
No, it didn't. [She replays the conversation in her head, repeating the last things he really said to her before she'd walked out.] There's nothing more to say he says, why does it matter so much he says. [her words start to tangle then, practically tripping over each other as she tries to voice her tangled emotions.] I thought why would he, if he didn't care why'd he kiss me? Then to turn around and kiss her like it's not a big deal! I don't understand!
[He was her knight! He'd kissed her first! He'd done all those things for her! He'd carried her all that way to find a way to wake her up. Not Quistis, her! So why did it seem like that despite it all she didn't matter?
This wasn't how it was supposed to be! This wasn't how Knights were supposed to work! Well... was it? It didn't feel that way to her anyway, but it's not like they came with a guidebook or anything.]

Irvine actually looks surprised, and no wonder. Rinoa hasn't said much, but that was a lot of information. Kissed this person, kissed that person, kissed who? ]
Whoa, whoa, Rinoa. He told you that he did?
[ At least he'd been honest with her. Still . . . ]
You know that's how he is. Not very good at saying much else.

If he had her talking for too long, she'd probably explode and say it. It being Quistis probably made the entire situation so much more worse than it would have been if he'd kissed a stranger.]
Of course he did and in that toneless, careless way he has too!
[It stung, but Squall had been right. This particular bit of news she'd been better off not knowing.]
I know you're right, but even some sort of apology would have been nice! [She throws one hand out in a frustrated gesture before her shoulders slump a little.]
I guess I just took things between us for granted after everything that's happened.

Women and their understanding, indeed. But what a mess. Everything isn't as fine and dandy as they should be. Rinoa's in a terrible mood, and Squall is . . . either being Squall, or being Squall. ]
Don't say that. It could be that he doesn't realize how big a deal that was.
No worries. We're not in a rush.
Still, she's as quick as ever to latch on to what hope she can find.]
You really think so?
[She watches Irvine closely, eyes narrowing a little bit as she stares at him. He wouldn't just say something like that to make her feel better after all, would he?]
♥
So let's be honest. ]
I think it could be.
You missed it, I was bragging about how awesome you were to another Rinoa-mun earlier. XD
Honesty was typically the best policy. Though it seems how you deliver that honesy plays a pretty big part too considering.]
I hope you're right. I just... [she stops and sighs.] I don't know what to think or who to count on anymore.
[Which was made all the more troubling since the person she normally talks to this about this stuff is... the one person she's beginning to think she can't count on most of all. Life sucks sometimes.]
Haha, oh! You're too kind. (': You're awesome, too.
Don't give up on him just yet, Rinoa. [ He shakes his head. ] We'll take it slowly. You can lean on our shoulders for a while.
[ Friends are good to have for comfort. And while said friends might not be able to relate to her or comfort her as well as Squall, they can provide company. Just enough until things straighten out . . . ]
She agrees by the way. ;) Awe, I just have a really great cast to play off that's all.
Maybe you could talk to him again. Maybe it'll make more sense to you than it does to me. Could you? [Dark eyes plead with him as she searches his face carefully. Was she asking an awful lot of the sniper? Yes, but that fact didn't seem to phase her in the least. Looks like she was going to take him at his word about that supportive thing. Poor guy.] Thanks Irvine, it really means a lot. You're way more dependable than I thought you were going to be when we first met. [Her voice softens a little and she gives him a small smile.] You're a really good friend.
[Being there for comfort sure, only to then get conscripted into seeing about straightening things out, really Irvine should have been able to see that coming considering how Rinoa could be sometimes.]
A-aww. You're part of that great cast too, you know.
Sure. I'll talk to him again. [ One can never ask too much of a friend. He'll do it if that'll please her and ameliorate this mess. Ah, the responsibility of playing messenger. ] Geez, thanks a lot. First impressions weren't too good, huh . . . ?
[ Of course not. He'd behaved unreasonably when they'd first met. But that's in the past. He's just going to keep working to live up to her words -- that he's a really good friend, and not someone who'll let her down by not trying. ]
But that's just me, so I have to view myself as an outside entity on principle.
Thanks, I'm sure I can count on you. [She means it too, he's surprisingly dependable for someone who'd at least attempted to seem like a womanizer when they'd first met. Pretty trustworthy too, unlike some people she could think of. Good luck playing messenger though, it was more likely that this situation would get worse and not better, but they could try at least.
Still, she laughs a little at his question trying to not act as down as she feels.] I thought you were a womanizing creep?
[They'd all made some poor decisions around the time they first met, but it really was just old news now. There was plenty of stuff to worry about that was far more important.]
