(ooc: I meant to post this ages ago and for one reason or another just haven't gotten around to it yet. This is backdated ~~forever and ever and ever ago~~ to after this post)

[Rinoa sits curled around Angelo in a shady, tree filled corner of the Quad, her face buried in the dog's furry ruff as she just sits and well pouts? Mopes? Sulks? Cries? There were any number of words that could be used to describe her current behavior and most of them fit. However, if someone were to look for it they'd see the tell-tale sign of tear tracks on the cadets face as well as the dampened portions of Angelo's fur ~~but thankfully not enough to trigger much of a damp dog scent.~~

Her face still buried against the dog her voice was muffled as she voiced her complaint, thinking that only Angelo could hear her.]

Why's he such a jerk?

[Maybe she had taken some things for granted and just assumed they were true, but he didn't have to be so cold about it. It was becoming painfully clear that what meant the world to her was more or less nothing to him. The more she thought about it the more it hurt and the more upset she became. ]

[Anyone's more than welcome to stop by and bother girl and dog new and old CR alike.]

Yeah, it does, eh. Because getting hurt yourself more is just letting him win.

[She's not known for being the calmest person ever, and she's also notorious for hatching plans, not thinking them through, and just dealing with the consequences later too.

Right now she's not going to be dissuaded.]

[Well, there's two ways to handle it. The mature way, and the immature way. Marco, being a pirate, doesn't care. And is along for the ride whichever way.]

All right, then I have two last questions. One have you ever been flying, and two have you ever been drinking?

[She doesn't want to be mature right now, so immature is totally the way to go.]

Have I ever been flying? Well, I've been on the Ragnarok so I guess so? [She could apparently spout wings somehow, but she'd never really learned to work them yet.] Just socially at parties and stuff really, that's all.

All right then a few ground rules. Firstly, don't tell anyone because then everyone will want to, secondly, do not try to guide me where to go, it could cause a spin-out, and I know what I'm doing. And don't pull feathers because they're fire, but it still hurts a little. And don't do anything too crazy, eh. I can cover us, but only so much. You can talk to me when I'm flying, but if you don't speak phoenix or avian, you probably won't know what I'm saying back.

[And without even explaining that, he switches into a brilliant fiery blue phoenix. And yes, sparkles. And then nods for her get on.]

[Rinoa's used to a lot of things, but seeing friends turn into giant sparkly phoenix looking creatures? Is not one of them. So she does the understandable thing and just kind of gapes for a minute, her current tiff with Squall forgotten for a more "omgwtfbbq is this" moment.

He was on fire, but strangely it didn't seem to radiate any heat. Once the shock of the transformation wears off a little, she edges forward and reached out cautiously marveling at how it doesn't burn her.

Still, she's a native to this world so it triggers a cautionary reaction in her despite her previous urge to be reckless.]

Are you sure this is a good idea? What if someone seees us?

[Because the sight of a girl riding a fiery blue bird totally wouldn't raise questions after all and no matter how mad she might be at Squall right now she had to keep suspicion off her name so that no one discovered she was a sorceress.]

[Switches back as it's a little too complicated to explain in phoenix whistles to someone who doesn't speak avian.]

That's the advantage to being blue, eh. It blends right in. And like I said, I can cover us. I have to land on rooftops, but I'm a pirate, and in my world, pretty damn infamous. So I'm plenty used to sneaking around unseen, eh.

[Fortunately, Marco had rather been counting on the shock and "ooh pretty sparkles!" reaction to distract her from sad things.]

[So the sneaky pirate was being sneaky? Clever and original, it also manages to get the job done at least for now anyway.]

I guess so, but promise me you'll be careful? I'll be in more trouble than you can imagine if someone sees us.

[Trouble all right, possibly of the life threatening variety considering just how bad the vendetta against sorceresses had been lately, but she wasn't going to tell him that.]

If you're sure you can do it, let's go!

[Very sneaky and very good at it.]

I'm sure. [Arches an eyebrow briefly at the worry, momentarily thinking if worse came to, he'd just kill anyone who made a fuss before remembering Rinoa and the Garden would probably get extremely upset at that. Pain in the ass. He switches back to phoenix and waits for her to get on.]

[Apparently.]

Okay then. [Yeah, that wouldn't have ended well especially since she wouldn't just stand there and watched. She might be a cute girl, but she's a fighter too even if she's still not anywhere near Squall's level. Which would have been super sad, she doesn't want to fight Marco.]

This is still really weird.

[That doesn't stop her from clambering onto his back and hanging on for dear life though.]

[Eh, he could be held back. His Pops was pretty reluctant to kill and that keeps Marco fairly tempered.]

Chirp. [A small laugh at her continued worry and shifts slight to shake her into place before taking off running and flying into the air, soaring up and flapping wings to get higher.]

[That's pretty reassuring to hear, she didn't want to fight him after all.]

You're right. I can't speak bird. [The laugh was obvious though and she smiles before more or less settling in for the ride.]

[Heh, it's all right. He hadn't really expected it. So instead he's just enjoying flying high and coasting over the ocean to head into town. Carefully making sure to stay unobservable.]
