♥ [Action/Quad/Open] my depth perception must be off again

[Rinoa sits curled around Angelo in a shady, tree filled corner of the Quad, her face buried in the dog's furry ruff as she just sits and well pouts? Mopes? Sulks? Cries? There were any number of words that could be used to describe her current behavior and most of them fit. However, if someone were to look for it they'd see the tell-tale sign of tear tracks on the cadets face as well as the dampened portions of Angelo's fur but thankfully not enough to trigger much of a damp dog scent.

Her face still buried against the dog her voice was muffled as she voiced her complaint, thinking that only Angelo could hear her.]

Why's he such a jerk?

[Maybe she had taken some things for granted and just assumed they were true, but he didn't have to be so cold about it. It was becoming painfully clear that what meant the world to her was more or less nothing to him. The more she thought about it the more it hurt and the more upset she became. ]

[Anyone's more than welcome to stop by and bother girl and dog new and old CR alike.]

Oh. I'm sorry. [She really is. She thinks for a few moments about what the right thing to say to her is. Her experience of romance is confined to shoujo manga.] Ah, you're really pretty. I can't understand why any guy would want to make you cry.

Thanks. [She manages a small, wan smile. No need to get a little girl wrapped up in all her troubles. Wiping her face off with an arm-warmer (stylish and practical see!) she sits up.]

I'm Rinoa and this is my dog Angelo.

[Angelo, for her part just sits there, semi-curled around Rinoa protectively her attention now on the girl since her mistress seems to have moved her mind onto other things.]

I don't think we've met before. Have you been on Garden long?

[Actually Yuri was kindof wondering what happened to her sleeves, but she's much too polite to just ask. Instead she bows politely.]

I'm Yuri Otani.

[She crouches, flinching initially as if she expects the dog to bite her. But when he proves friendly she eagerly pets him.]

Just a couple weeks. Are you one of the senior cadets? Or a SEED?

[Sleeves? Who needs sleeves? Sleeveless dusters with arm warmers farther down is totally the way to go.]

Yuri? I'll try and remember that. [Getting used to the weird names that people from other worlds had still took some getting used to.

Angelo was a friendly dog, and a girl dog but that was totally not the point here. Still she likes attention so totally hams it up for the stranger's adoring little girl petting.]

I'm just a cadet too. I know several of the SeeD though.

[Oh the irony of a Final Fantasy character being confused by Japanese names. Anyway, Yuri crouched to embrace the big pile of fluff.]

Really? Then m-maybe we have some classes together? [She seems nice and it would be good to have some classmates that were like that.]

[Most Final Fantasy characters don't have Japanese names. We're ignoring Fujin and Raijin right now because they don't count.
