(ooc: I meant to post this ages ago and for one reason or another just haven't gotten around to it yet. This is backdated ~~forever and ever and ever ago~~ to after this post)

[Rinoa sits curled around Angelo in a shady, tree filled corner of the Quad, her face buried in the dog's furry ruff as she just sits and well pouts? Mopes? Sulks? Cries? There were any number of words that could be used to describe her current behavior and most of them fit. However, if someone were to look for it they'd see the tell-tale sign of tear tracks on the cadets face as well as the dampened portions of Angelo's fur ~~but thankfully not enough to trigger much of a damp dog scent.~~

Her face still buried against the dog her voice was muffled as she voiced her complaint, thinking that only Angelo could hear her.]

Why's he such a jerk?

[Maybe she had taken some things for granted and just assumed they were true, but he didn't have to be so cold about it. It was becoming painfully clear that what meant the world to her was more or less nothing to him. The more she thought about it the more it hurt and the more upset she became. ]

[Anyone's more than welcome to stop by and bother girl and dog new and old CR alike.]

[Looking up at a rather, and shockingly so, unfamiliar head of blue hair, Rinoa sits up and wipes her face carefully with an arm warmer.]

Just a little guy trouble, that's all.

[It's not like she could just load some random stranger down with the details after all.]

[Oh boy, is he glad Nina isn't around for this. She might just make him do the whole matchmaking thing all over again.]

It must not be that little if he made you cry.

[Whoever this stranger was, he was sure perceptive. Might as well hear the full story then!]

After everything we'd been through, I thought there might be something there that's all. We've even kissed! But recently he kissed someone else and he just told me about it. [After she'd badgered it out of him.] He doesn't seem to care why this bothers me or why I'd feel so betrayed.

[She sniffs unable to help it by now as she's working herself up pretty good.]

He didn't even bother to apologize!

[Reaches for a handkerchief from his coat, holding it within her reach, if she wanted it.]

People have reasons for the things they do, for better or worse. I don't know what they could be, and I can't make him apologize.

[He paused, searching for something to say. Nina was a lot better at this than he ever was.]

I do know that time and good friends can ease any pain. We might not know each other, and I can't offer a magic solution to all this, but I can at least try to cheer you up.

[Whoever this is he certainly seems nice at least. Taking the handkerchief from him she cleans herself up as best as possible considering and offers him a weak smile.]

[She tried for that smile one more time though on the repeat it was a tiny bit brittle around the edges.]

No worries. I've been here a few weeks, slowly getting used to it. As long as I have a body of water, and fish to catch, I can adapt anywhere.

Did you come from another world too, or are you from here?

[Is he trying to blow her poor mind now? Though technically that depends on if Zell's hair requires gel or not so have to get back to you on that one.]

Really? You sound kind of like someone who used to be a friend of mine.

[It wasn't common knowledge that Seifer liked to fish, but she'd heard him talk about it a time or two when they were still on good terms with each other.]

I'm from twenty years in the past of this world. Which sounds kind of weird, but it's only a little different from people who were brought here from different worlds really.

It doesn't sound entirely weird. Time has a habit of slipping away.

[Says the guy who was asleep for about 400 years, and then skipped out on puberty by lurking as a dragon in a mineshaft for almost a decade.]

Is your friend still around? I could always use some good competition.

I guess you're right. Most people seem to think it's weirder than being pulled from a different world though. One guy seemed really happy that he could say he knew a time traveler even!

[Woah, that was... pretty intense and definitely beat out a twenty year jump into the future.]

I haven't seen him for a while actually. He just up and left one day I guess.

I've seen my share of weird in my travels, although this is the first time I visited another world. I bet some of my friends would like it here. Momo would be up all night tinkering with everything, and Nina would just be happy to be farther away from the castle.

[And he's happy because Myria got her butt kicked, and so far, there doesn't seem to be any of that "boo hiss dragons are evil" business here.]

Well, I suppose now I have something to do on the weekends. Find him and see who is the better fisherman. I wonder if the library has books on the local fish? More importantly, if I can just find some Mackerel, vinegar...

[He pauses awkwardly. Oops, that was something of a ramble, wasn't it?]

Er, sorry. I'm just kind of eager to see what this world has. It's nothing like home.

Time Compression doesn't seem to have a pattern, but maybe someday your friends will show up too.

[Oh well, he hadn't gone digging yet. They still had their dragon lore even here. Like protecting princesses (or sorceresses like in that one movie) from the big bad dragons. He just hadn't noticed that part yet apparently. He could join Rinoa on that one, it's not like there was any love lost for sorceresses after all.]

[She smiles though, remembering something that he'd probably appreciate.]

You should go to Fisherman's horizon sometime. I know there's people who really like to fish there!

[She smiles, really it's refreshing just how he's taken to being out of his world.]

After what I've already done, finding him shouldn't be hard.

How far away is it, exactly? I haven't had a chance to get a good look at a map yet.

[Ryu did skim it, though. If Rinoa ever checked his room, she'd find a map with potential fishing spots marked all over it.]

Well, I've tied up most of my loose ends back home. No reason I shouldn't learn all I can here. Besides, maybe I can use what I pick up at the Garden to help people back home.

[Y'know, now that Myria isn't holding back the Desert of Death from consuming the whole world.]

I think, it's right about...[she pauses and then shrugs.] I'm not really sure how far away it is. I'd have to look it up!

[What? Just because she's from this world it didn't mean she had it memorized or anything!]

I think I like your way of looking at things. It sounds really nice.

I'm sure I can check a map or a book in the Library to tell me where it is.

[He smiled and shrugged.]
