Case 01 [action, Quad]

[Slagging new world with its slagging new rules and its slagging assumption that he'd actually attend all of these fragging classes. Damian scowled as he kicked up random flowers in the Quad. He didn't mind the "attending school" part - he was in the sixth grade back home - but really? Just snatching him from Gotham and expecting him to comply with the rules here? Blasphemy!

The Course Catalog's still at his side, but he hasn't bothered to read it. Still, with the dirt and flowers all over him, Damian's making himself - and the Quad - ridiculously messy. Still upset, he growls:] The dregs could've at least warned us beforehand! [... yeah, someone had definitely tuned out a good deal of the explanation. Considering the rage this kid's in, this may or may not be a good thing.]

[Erk! He wasn't expecting actual monsters... and it's obvious from the look on his face. Whatever happened to punching bags and supervillains?]

Yeah. I didn't really listen to their lecture. [dodges an attack from a grats effortlessly] It was super-boring.

[And with that, Luki charges into battle. She notices the way Damian dodges the attack - either he's pretending he can't fight, or he's a natural and just doesn't know it yet. She slices through a grat with her gunblade and jumps back near Damian for a moment. Both to protect him in case he needs it, and to continue their conversation]

Don't worry, I can show you around after we're done playing in here~

Don't you mean when you're done? [Part of him resents that he can't fight these big guys - and honestly, the itch is still there - but he said he couldn't fight, so he'd follow through to the end. Laughing, he shrugs.] I mean... you're the one doing all the work.

... Still, it's pretty impressive. ["If not a little outdated."]

[Luki takes out grat #2 by taking a flying leap at it and bringing the gunblade down through its head]

[Grat #3'd normally be ridiculously easy for Damian, but he's pretending he can't fight by putting the knife in his right hand (he's left-handed) and shakily stumbling towards it. He stabs it maybe twice, but has to eventually run in the end.] Damn!

You did pretty good for a first try. Did you play sports before, or something? You were good at dodging.


(ooc: I just have this image of her being like "Wow Robin, you remind me a lot of my friend Damian, except you can fight! You're the same height and everything!" Of course, she's kind of naive so she'll believe him at first if he tells her they're different people.)

Uh, yeah! [Think, Damian, think! He twirls the knife awkwardly and clumsily.] I, uh, played soccer! And did a little bit of track.

[ooc; Pfffft oh god, that'd be awesome. I was actually gonna ask the mods if Damian could use a voice distorter - or something - to hide his appearance because he's Robin, he can use that and platform boots if he wants to. :> ... Though I really do wanna see this now. Should I set up a log?]

[Luki pauses when she spots a T-rexaur out of the corner of her eye. On one hand, they're much more interesting to fight. On the other hand, it's probably mean to take Damian over to it if he had some trouble with a grat. Instead, she'll settle for whispering and pointing. The T-rexaur might not be the size of a true T-rex, but it's still pretty damned big - much bigger than any person, anyhow]

See that? That's a T-rexaur.


(ooc: XD Maybe the incident with Luki is what prompts him to add platform boots to the ensemble? And log would be good. I will be kind of slow from Monday-Thursday, though. Hahaha, if Luki ever DOES manage to figure it out, she'll probably promise to keep quiet as long as she can dress up and fight bad guys with him.)

[The T-Rexaur doesn't phase Damian. He's seen worse in his line of work - supervillains notwithstanding - and he knows he can handle it. He just. Doesn't want to show Luki he can fight. So he gives her a fake worried glance.]

... That thing looks pretty big. Can you take it?

Yeah! I even made a t-shirt for kicking T-rexaurs in the face. But it won't go down quick like the grats, so you better stay back and be ready to dodge.

[Without hesitation, the green haired girl makes a beeline for the T-rexaur. In fact, if Damian watches carefully, her body language indicates she's actually eager to fight it]


(ooc: Spiffy. :D ...somehow, I doubt Luki's ability to come up with a costume that plausibly conceals her identity or a codename that's remotely menacing, so Damian will have to make suggestions.)

[He doesn't like the way she's charging in - it reminds him too much of his Batgirl - but Damian carefully hangs back and watches. Just in case, he slips the knife into his dominant hand and waits. No use in letting her blindly get hurt... right?]

I got to borrow the silk screening kit from art class to do it!

[With the T-rexaur, Luki cuts loose. She's moving faster than before, and careful to evade the T-rexaur's attacks. Even though her body heals fast and the pain from the T-rexaur's teeth wouldn't last long, she doesn't want to scare her new friend. Luki wants him to feel safe around her so that they can continue being friends. It takes much longer to defeat than the grats, but after a few minutes, Luki emerges victorious]

Whew! That was good exercise. Wanna go get something to drink at the cafeteria?

[They have art classes?! This place sounds so abnormal... and then it sounds completely normal when Damian least expects it. He grumbles, watching her... but she's good. He doesn't have much to be worried about, and so the knife goes safely back into his pocket.

He blinks at her.] ... Um, sure. I mean, if you're done here.

No, no, this is the Training Center. The Quad is the place with the flowers.

[Luki thought about what was important to know]

Hmm...well, they wake you up at 6:30 every morning and there's a curfew. The Training Center is the only place you can go after curfew. Um...some classes are required and then you have to have some other classes but you get to pick the other ones depending on what you like.

Oh! And there's magic and things called Guardian Forces that are big huge creatures that you do this thing called junctioning so that you can summon them. But they're supposed to make you forget stuff sometimes.

The cafeteria has good food on some days, although it's not as good as Buon Viaggio! Oh! And not everyone chooses to have a cookie, so there's always some left over. If you ask nicely, the cafeteria staff will usually give you an extra one.

The school even flies and goes to other places sometimes. It's pretty cool!

They're pretty nice. All you have to do is say please and thank you and not leave a big huge mess for them to clean up when you eat!

We went on a school-wide trip after exams for school break.
