[Slagging new world with its slagging new rules and its slagging assumption that he'd actually attend all of these fragging classes. Damian scowled as he kicked up random flowers in the Quad. He didn't mind the "attending school" part - he was in the sixth grade back home - but really? Just snatching him from Gotham and expecting him to comply with the rules here? Blasphemy!

The Course Catalog's still at his side, but he hasn't bothered to read it. Still, with the dirt and flowers all over him, Damian's making himself - and the Quad - ridiculously messy. Still upset, he growls:] The dregs could've at least warned us beforehand! [... yeah, someone had definitely tuned out a good deal of the explanation. Considering the rage this kid's in, this may or may not be a good thing.]

Tt! Why else would I be so angry? [still, he certainly seems a little more light-hearted about it.]

[Wry smile.] You know, most of us have lost that anger once we find out we're being sheltered, clothed, fed, and educated for practically no fee by complete strangers.

Then you should definitely go. I hear it's a place to learn a few things, and not just for advanced fighters.

It's worth a shot. But I really, really suck at fighting. [he's a bad liar, but it's the only way he can keep his identities apart] ... Guess military school's not for me.

[Gakupo senses that this person was really laying it on thick when it came to saying he couldn't fight. Most people would just leave it at that after first mentioning it, but he didn't. Odd.]

How about I give you some pointers when we get to the training center?

We do. I went there not too long ago. [Looks around and points in the distance.] That building there is the training center. [Contemplative look.] Does some hand-to-hand practice work for you?

Come now. You look as if you're walking to the electric chair. [Chuckles with a shake of his head, amused.] We all have an inherent nature to fight, you know, but it takes true strength to not succumb to it.

[Damian's still making faces, but... this other guy's got a point. If only he knew about Damian's nightlife. They get to the training center, and alas... twoGlacial Eyes (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Glacial_Eye) are the welcoming committee.

Instinctively, Damian assumes a fighting stance before immediately flailing. Right. He can't fight.]

[Gakupo caught that very quick fighting stance before turning back to the monsters.]

Me without my sword. [Sighs.] Good thing I'm junctioning... [Tries to think quickly before trying out a spell they drew out, but haven't practiced yet. He felt that odd sensation through his body, the usual when using magic he notices, and tosses out Blind to the two monsters. It affects them, luckily. Grabs onto Damian's arm and runs, hopefully getting a bit of time to get to a safe place before the monsters recover.]

I don't think you know how to use the magic here yet.

We can use magic here? [For once, Damian'd been completely dumbfounded - he wasn't used to metahumans, especially ones who could cast spells - by Gakupo. He stares again at those monsters, then thinking...]

... No, I just got here. But could we use something hot? If these things're weak to fire, surely there's some matches we could use. [he shrugs] Pokemon taught me that much.

... [Crap. He noticed. Poor Damian looks like a deer in headlights.] Wait, what? I... uh. That was actually decent?

[Kind of hard not to see it. Smiles softly.] More than decent. You shifted quite quickly and subconsciously into it. [Crosses his arms.] I just wonder why you're trying to hide your abilities.

[awkwardly rubs the back of his neck] Who'd believe me if they said I could fight? In my experience, the innocent kid who knows nothing usually gets a better picture than someone already seen as an equal.

... I don't know. It's probably better this way. [He won't get into the whole superhero thing unless Gakupo prods further, really; secret identities are too important to the Batfam.]

I must say, that is a good ideology to have. [Hums.] It's like you have an alter ego! [Chuckles.]

Yet, if you're going to deceive people about your fighting skills, and they find out you've been untruthful after helping, I think they would get angry. Unless you had a good reason.

I made a promise to my Boss that I wouldn't tell anyone. It's... probably the most important one I've gotta keep.
