[Even though Aang had finished making Katara a bracelet ages ago, he had put off giving it to her until now. He was nervous, after all, especially with Katara not remembering as much as he did. So earlier that day, he had asked Katara to meet him in the quad after the afternoon classes (the later the better, right?). And here he was, fidgeting with anxiety as he waited for her to show up, the gift safely hidden in his pocket.]

[The last class had just ended, and Katara was quick to leave the classroom to make her way to the Quad-- Aang had asked her out of the blue to meet her there in the evening, and she didn't want to make him wait.

She spots Aang somewhere off to the side of the courtyard, and promptly walks towards him, a smile on her lips as she gives him a small wave.]

Hi, Aang! Did you have to wait for long?

[His heart skipped a beat when he saw her enter the quad, even more nervous than before. He managed a weak wave and smile back as she approached.]

Uh--not really. [He paused and let out a nervous laugh.] So, uh...how are you?

[She stopped before him, a hand readjusting the strap of her book bag slung around a shoulder.]

I'm good! It was a long day of classes, so I'm glad it's over. What about you?

Really? I thought it went by pretty quickly.

I don't know-- today just felt particularly slow for some reason. But at least it's done with.

Yeah.

[Aang glanced to the side, shifting again. It was now or never.] So, Katara... you know that necklace your mother gave you?

[She was surprised by the question, and for a fleeting moment she frowned, blue eyes glowering for a brief moment as she remembered just who exactly possessed the precious necklace at the moment. But she managed to shake it off, and gave Aang a small nod.]

Yeah, what about it?

[He faltered for a moment, frightened by Katara. But he continued, hoping she wouldn't lash out.]

Well... I felt bad that you lost it, so I made you something for when you find it, you know? [He offered her another nervous smile as he pulled a plain wooden box out of his pocket and held it out to her.]

[Her expression immediately shifted to a look of shock when he presented her with the box. Katara looked down at the offered gift for several moments before her features softened, and carefully she reached out to brush her fingers against the box.]

Oh, Aang, you didn't have to do that.

I wanted to. For you, Katara. [He was still smiling at her.]

Go ahead and open it. [Inside the box, she would find a silver-like metal band with a pale blue gemstone embedded in the outer wrist. Cut into the gem was a design similar to the one on Katara's necklace with a few details added in.]

[And so she does. Katara slowly lifted the lid from the box, and when her eyes catch sight of the piece of jewelry, she can't help but let out a soft gasp.]

Aang, it's beautiful. [Her fingers were careful when they brushed against the gem.]

So you like it? [Aang couldn't help but grin at her reaction.]

Of course! It's just gorgeous, Aang. [Katara returned the grin whens he looked up at Aang. She then suddenly enveloped him in a tight hug.]

[Aang was happy to receive the hug and returned it, though not as tightly.]

[She released him, and gingerly picked up the bracelet from the box. Holding it up to the light, she turned it this way and that to admire the light bouncing off the gem.]

Could you help me put it on?

--Sure. [He didn't have much experience with fastening jewelry, but he would try.]

I think I need your hand.

[She rolled up the jacket sleeve of her left arm before presenting her wrist to him, palm turned upwards.]

[Aang was nervous again, blushing slightly. He took the bracelet from her and placed it around her wrist. After a moment of fumbling with the simple clasp, it was secured.]

Well...there you go.

[Katara could only smile all the while, and once the bracelet was secured she lifted her hand to admire it all over again. A few moments later she dropped the hand and let the fingers of the other hand brush against the piece of jewelry.]

That's really sweet of you, Aang. [She was beaming as she looked at him.]

[He laughed nervously, beaming.] You know how I am...sweet Aang.

[She's still smiling as she tilts her head slightly, looking at Aang with wide eyes.]

What do you want to do now? I don't have too much homework tonight, so we can hang out for a while if you want.

[A subject change! He's much more comfortable now.] That sounds great! ....Are you hungry?
