[Class had just gotten underway and the instructor divided all the students by gender. We all know where Grell stands, right? All the numbers had been picked out and people went with their perspective partners, ready to begin.

Except one redhead. And apparently his partner whom he left stranded.

Grell doesm't care. Someone would take pity on him and pair him up with another person, or even the instructor would volunteer. He stands off to the side with a frown, arms crossed defiantly as he leans against the wall. This was all so ridiculous! He refused to be defined by what he was born as, and he certainly refused to take on the MALE ROLE in this dance.

This was the fifth time this happened since classes started too.]

Nonsense... [Mutters, ignoring the instructor insisting on him joining the class. Again.]

[Bows politely and speaking for the teacher's sake, a little more formally than the pirate ever does.]

For the sake of class progression, wouldn't it be best to allow students to be more at ease?

[Tobias, on the other hand, had little troubles being nudged into the male role -- he'd put his uniform up after Grell had taking him shopping, and in actual pants, it wasn't hard to see he wasn't a girl.

The issue with him, however, was the fact that, for all his affection towards Grell and Marco, he seemed very reluctant to touch the girl he'd been partnered with, and flinched every time she touched him.

It was obviously not going well for them either.]

[Yes, her, because he was wearing a dress, if it wasn't obvious enough.

The instructor wasn't buying it though.]

According to our records, Cadet Sutcliff is registered as male. Furthermore--

Well, [There goes Grell interrupting.] I certainly wasn't aware of instructors being so discriminating. [Have a dirty look, instructor! Again.]

And making a female wearing a dress with those girlie hips and height dance a male portion doesn't strike you as odd?

[Pats Grell's head for emphasis on short height.]

[Grins and watches the instructor get flustered.]

W-Well....You see, rules are rules! [Pauses, thinking of the logic before sighing and rubbing the bridge of their nose. This redhead always made class so difficult.] Very well, then. Dance with whomever you wish, Cadet Sutcliff. Just don't disturb class again. [Walks away.]

Witch...[Grumbles in the instructor's wake before grinning and latching onto Marco.] My knight in shining pineapple armor has saved me! [Looks up to him with glistening, sparkly eyes.] How can I repay you?

With a dance, of course. If I may have this one. [Bows and kisses Grell's hand, quite formally and Prince-like.]

[Quietly nudges reassuringly.] It'll be okay, eh. They're nervous too. That's part of the fun.

[Giggles and gives a curtsy, being the lady that he is.] I'd be honored.

[Perfectly takes Grell's hands and adeptly moves to the music. He's done this before, as it shows.]

Taking it upon yourself to dote on a poor humble pirate like me. [Small happy hum.]

[It was no problem for Grell to move to the music. He was well versed in such dances as well. Hard not to be.]

Someone had to. [Smiles, moving fluidly with Marco.]

He's my superior at work, and he's just so rigid and stuffy! [Looks around them at other students dancing, some tripping, some stepping on toes and getting into arguments.] To think he would care about how I identify is appalling. It doesn't change anything.

[Shrugs softly.]

And I wasn't worried.

...is that Toby? [He forgot the boy had pants now. Shame...but is wondering if Toby's uniform would fit him.]
