[Rion had found recently that his new roommate was ... not really to his liking, and he was spending more and more time out of his dorm (as opposed to before, where his roommate was either never there, or nonexistent). Normally he'd be studying or reading in his room, but over the last week or so he'd found it easier to just go to the library and curl up in one of the chairs with a book.

This is exactly where he'd be found now, body pulled up against him as he sat in a big, comfortable chair in the library, reading a detective novel that Naoto'd recommended to him before she disappeared to go back home. Not that he seemed to be paying much attention to it - he kept looking up, looking around, almost as if expecting something or waiting for someone.]

[Things Rion was not aware of: that Marco had glasses.

This might explain why Marco is getting pretty much the same look back and also a bit of confusion because what are you looking at him funny for Marco?]

[Actually, they aren't prescription. Marco only wears them to look smarter and to warn off his crew that he's focusing. That said, decades-old habits die hard. And so Marco attempts to put his first bit of sign language to use.]

[His reaction is a pretty wide smile as he signs back, though it... may not be entirely clear; if Marco isn't clear on any signs he used (which is possible), he'll just pause to finger-spell them.

Which is to say pretty much all of it, most likely. He'll start getting up after he responds, because it's gonna be easier for everyone involved if he writes.]

Reading and studying. Nothing, really.

[Rion thinks about this, then starts writing - it'll be a good long while before they can have a real conversation in sign language, anyway. Though Rion really does appreciate the effort!]

I was studying for Biology earlier, but I stopped to read a book. I would study for Ballroom Dancing, but there isn't really a way to study for that.

If you don't want to be the girl, I'll get Grell. She's... not happy about the position the teacher forced her into.

[NO NO NO THAT'S NOT WHAT HE MEANS. He shakes his head. Vigorously. It would be awkward enough doing such with Marco, when he doesn't really feel comfortable with the male steps; doing such with Grell, even though his role would be correct, gives him the shivers. Rion's perceptive enough to know that something about Grell - in the words of noted American philosopher Hank Hill - "just ain't right".]

It's not that. My partner's really helpful about practicing even when we're not in class. It's just that I can't sit down and study like I can with biology or law.

Ah, all right hang on. [Quietly chuckles to himself, as that tends to be everyone's reaction to Grell. He leaves into the stacks of books for a second and then returns with a few books on the art of ballroom dancing.]

It might help you get a clearer picture, eh? Some people learn best from doing, others learn the theories best.

... do you mind if I take it? [God, he looks so awkward asking. He'll probably take it if given permission, and study it thoroughly. He looks pretty happy about the idea, though whether it's just because he will have something to STUDY or something else isn't clear.]
