So now im the official king shit and yall know it so im gonna make this clear. You see someone trying to be a bigger shit than me you give me a yell so i can come put em in their place. Dont want no one giving anyone else a hard time. All got to work together or something. Gonna rent a boat this whole damn week. Anyone wants to learn sailing in the chop speak up. Shood be clear most days so weather aint a problem. Biology lab students dont forget to do yur observations and get me them notes from yer instructors saying theyll accept it as extra credit. Itll get added to yur grade from this trimester once the lab is done. ~ Official King Shit

Let's do the weekend since I don't have classes, Sunday!

[Bright and stupidly early Sunday morning Namur's already out on the boat, this world's version of a small sloop. Judging from the laced up hammock and blankets he's probably been sleeping out there the whole week. He sails up and down the harbor most of the morning, skipping over waves and testing the currents. The harbor master's going to have a few choice words whenever Namur decides to actually dock the boat- but that won't be until the absolute last minute if he can help it. He's keeping close enough to the shore that even with his poor eyesight he could be easily flagged down, should someone bother remembering she's got a crash course in sailing planned.]

[Fionna had looked up what she had to for this particular outing: finding the girl's clothing to be lacking, she opted to wear the boy's type, although the pants felt tighter than they needed to be. In any case, she was here, and was already into it: the smell of the sea was refreshing, and she couldn't help but feel excited at the idea of going out on an outing with Namur.

As a friend. Of course].

Yo!

[Namur waves to let her know he's heard, gets the boat turned, then lifts the sails so he doesn't go careening into the docks at full speed. By the time he's gotten them up momentum and the tide have brought him relatively close to where Fionna's waiting. He laughs when he sees her getup- she looks like a damn Marine for hell's sake, and she's probably freezing to boot- but he's gotten himself under control by the time he pulls up close enough for her to hop in.]

C'mon Smolt! Harbor master's goin' t' skin 'imself a shark if I stick 'round here much longer! Can y' make the jump?

[Freeze? Fionna? Not on your life-that she'll admit to you anyway. As for the jump, she leans back and makes a flawless leap onto the boat, glad she was NOT wearing her normal skirt for once].

Heck yeah man! What are we gonna do today?

[Namur chucks a blanket at her and gets the boat underway.]

Well we ain't flyin', dumbass. The hell d' y' think we're doin'? Sheheheh!

[Fionna frowned and bumped him with her hip].

I know we're sailing, dummy! I mean, like, what are we going to do, fish? Pirate around?"

[Pirate around, she says. Oh hell, this smolt. Namur bumps her back.]

Naw, no piratin' 'round. Ain't no cannons on this rig t' be piratin' with. Good for teachin' y' some basic sailin' though, an' there's a bunch a little sandspit islands 'round if y' wanna do a bit a explorin'.

[It's how she talks Namur, so sue her!]

Sweet, islands?! That'll be neat! Maybe we can do some fishing too?

All I got's a net. Guess if y' can swim good an' hold yer breath a longass time we could work somethin' out. 'Fore that, though, how 'bout I show y' round the ship?

Sure, sure! You know I don't know a whole lot about ships. Not enough, anyway. We can figure out fishing later.

[Namur grins, then shows her the different parts of the ship and sails and explains a little about how they work. Then he shows her how to steer using the tiller. He finishes by teaching her a couple different knots and challenges her to a couple of knot tying races once she's figured out how to do them. By this point, they've traveled pretty far up the coast, out of Balamb Town and past Garden's beach-front parking spot as well. Namur likes the smell of the wilds out here. It seems the most like home.]

Gettin' hungry, Fi? Bet we'll find a couple schools in the shallows if yer still hooked on the idea a goin' fishin'. Sheheheh!

[Yes, he did just laugh at his own shitty joke.]

[Fionna was literally allowing herself to be a sponge of knowledge now, taking in all of this information on boats, and taking a moment to tie the knots that Namur demonstrated. This was actually easier than he might have thought: Fionna had to maintain her own tree fort, after all, so knowing how to tie different knots were important. Fionna also looks more than happy to be on the outing: the sea smelled fresh, and she felt like they could have just sailed on forever. Even the wind cutting through her wasn't that bad!]

I totes am! That was weak though.

[Another bump from her to you, Namur]. Got any fishing lines?

[All this hip bumping is going to make him stupid if she's not careful.]

Naw, jus' the net. Let's beach the ship. I'll catch the fish an' y' can make yerself a fire t' cook 'em on.

[Fionna nodded, completely unaware her hip bumping is having any aforementioned effect: her butt just happens to be the only very padded part of her she CAN hit Namur where it won't hurt].

Sure, I can do that! I watch Cake do it all the time. Le me know if you need help with anything else, k?

[Namur doesn't mind. It's just shark body language for hey man I wanna get with you. He blushes a little but turns away to steer the boat in to a little cove, heading straight for the shore. When it runs aground, he hops into the surf and lifts the front of the ship, letting the waves bring it a little further up the beach until he's confident the tide isn't going to wash it away.]

Toss me that longass rope an' tie it off in the fore. I'mma tie her up t' the shore then I'll carry y' in so y' ain't got t' get wet.

[It would be funny to see exactly how badly Fionna would blush if she knew what she was actuallydoing, but for now she remained blissfully ignorant. Instead, she hurried to his instruction, tossing him the rope, then making sure to secure it to the fore. At the last comment, she stopped, opening her mouth to say something, then closing it. Maybe this wasn't such a bad idea after all].

All right guy, you're the boss!

[Namur doesn't get what's so embarrassing about him going to tie up the boat but whatever. Hopefully she'll be over it by the time he's finished. He wraps the rope around a tree, knots it securely, then heads back to get her.]

If y' got a problem with sittin' on my shoulder better tell me now. If not...

[He lays an arm along the rail and pats the shoulder for her to climb on.]

[She's over it. Fionna wasn't the type of girl to spend all too much time thinking about weird stuff and was already waiting to see him].

Nah, its cool.

[She leaps onto his shoulder with ease, grinning].

[Aaaand back to shore they go. Namur sets her down just above the high tide line.]

Back in a bit, Fi. Try not t' burn the forest down, a'ight?

[He winks to let her know he's playing, and heads back out to the ship to grab his fishing net, then disappears into the sea. He emerges awhile later, shaking water out of his hair with the net slung over his shoulder, about half full of flopping silver fish.]

[As a reply Fionna waves him off, and she's already off to gather some firewood. Namur WAS technically a shark dude, so he was going to be quick, right? She started by gathering a nice, sturdy bundle of sticks and set them up tepee fashion. That accomplished, she started rubbing two sticks together until she got enough friction to bring about some smoke. She set the sticks up around that, and then added a few strips of paper to get the fire to build up, where the sticks now fed just enough to get a small fire going. Happily, Namur arrived a minute later].

Awesome! What kind did you get?

Couple a tuna. Smaller fish all took the current t' hell knows where. Two oughta do y' though, right?

[They're both like three feet long.]
