Wedding 06 [BBS Text]

So, um....

What's this place's policy on flying giant robots?

Just thought I'd check.

If T-boards aren't allowed, I don't think giant robots are!!!

[Poor Zell had his confiscated just after graduation.]

I'll have to agree with the reply before mine. However, if yourewillingtocomply to some regulations, something can be arranged, surely.

If you're to be a SeeD of Balamb Garden, you'll need to register your mobile suit as part of the rest of our fleet, and abide by the regulations regarding war machines. Those regulations mostly involve treaties signed between different countries in order to promote peaceful relations between each other.

[Because let's face it, even if it'll be used to keep peace, it's still an instrument of violence.]

While the mobile suit will essentially belong to you, you may be discouraged from using it whenever you please, but not prohibited. [Loopholes.]
count_to_peace: (Peacecraft: not amused)

[personal profile] count_to_peace 2013-07-24 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
Then I certainly hope you do not gain control of a mobile suit.
count_to_peace: (Peacecraft: ...uh...)

does she already have a mobile suit in Garden??

[personal profile] count_to_peace 2013-07-25 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[...well damn.]

Are you unable to repair it?
count_to_peace: (Peacecraft: thinking)

I could've brought Tallgeese...damn. B(

[personal profile] count_to_peace 2013-07-25 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[He could repair it, with the proper materials, or their equivalency. But this girls seems pretty careless...]

Then you'll just have to find someone adept with off-world mechanics to repair it.

Where exactly have you been searching?

That may be your problem. I may be the only other person with enough knowledge of Gundams to be of any help. There may be others who have taken a shine to off-world technology outside Balamb Garden, but you'll need ot do some traveling to find them.

Flying giant robots?

[Color him intrigued]

They sound so. Though I haven't seen one here. Where do you store a giant flying robot?

Couldn't say, Miss. I've never seen one. Care to show me around?

If you have the time and inclination I'd like that.

Appreciated, miss. Just let me know.

It's a rather crude way to describe what she's talking about, but with only the both of us knowing what an actual mobile suit looks like or even how it functions, it's pretty much accurate.

She's just missing the 'fighting' part.
thatched: (listen)

[personal profile] thatched 2013-07-17 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Fighting? Just what are they capable of?
count_to_peace: (Peacecraft: calm)

[personal profile] count_to_peace 2013-07-19 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
It really depends on the pilot, or even the organization or the people. Some claim they are capable of peace, most recognize them as being capable of war.
thatched: (know I'm awesome)

[personal profile] thatched 2013-07-22 04:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[he'd been more asking for technical details rather than philosophy but...]

A weapon is a weapon no matter who pilots it. But as long as the pilots are on our side there's little to worry about, aye?
count_to_peace: (Peacecraft: ambassador (glare))

[personal profile] count_to_peace 2013-07-24 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
[He should have been more specific.]

I disagree. A weapon can be a weapon if it's intended to be used as one. A knife is dangerous if used as a weapon, but it can be harmless when used properly to prepare food. It isn't a case of whether or not a pilot is on our side, but rather that pilot's intentions are what should matter.

[He was on the side of White Fang, but the intention to erase the Earth was still in his plans.]
thatched: (heh blush)

[personal profile] thatched 2013-07-24 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you saying you could use one of these things to cut a carrot? A knife's purpose is to cut food. A dagger's is to cut people, regardless of whether you cut food with it or not.

Are intentions and being on the same side so different?

[personal profile] count_to_peace 2013-07-25 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
We're fairly good at making things suit our purpose, are we not?

Most that I've encountered are on the side they choose for their own purpose, but once their mission is complete, there may be little reason to continue to ally themselves. To answer your question: yes and no, but I ere on the side of caution.
thatched: (listen)

[personal profile] thatched 2013-07-31 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
In my experience it's because too often, many don't give reason for allies to stay. There has to be more than shared singular goal. Create a unit of affection and close ties and you'll have stronger allies that you can call on if need be.
count_to_peace: (Peacecraft: Wind)

[personal profile] count_to_peace 2013-08-02 08:03 am (UTC)(link)
Absolutely. I wouldn't mind a shared, similar goal between comrades, to be honest. I'd like to consider myself a person who chooses their allies and friends well.

We surely don't live in simpler times.
