Elliot's climbing those stairs right now, and he still hates this place, so he can only see what's right in front of him at the moment. Unsurprisingly, he doesn't notice the poor boy sitting there reading and, after tripping over him, Elliot practically falls forward, only able to prevent a painful impact by a thread.]
