There is a fair bit of controversy over the upcoming events. I simply ask that you read with an open mind and actually read what I say.

Many of you remember the last Galbadian attack. I will be frank: we were quite lucky we got out with as few casualties we did. Just eyeballing it, they have far better technology when it comes to the military side. We are outgunned, so to speak. Quite literally, in some cases. Were they to attack again, the situation would likely be comparable to what we are about to face on the island.

They won't spare you because you're young, either. We're not in some cartoon or book. If you are outgunned in an attack, it is over unless you have some way to fight back. This will prepare you for high-stress battle situation, and among other things, the following are things you should take away from this:
  • Knowing your exact limits
  • Ability to identify weak points
  • Adapting to changing battle situations on the fly
  • Practical battle strategy
  • Utilizing others around you to make the best group you can
  • And other practical uses

If there is another attack, by Galbadia or anyone else, you won't have the luxury of finding teams beforehand. There will be no mercy. And even the slightest thing could be taken as provocation. This is a time for us all to find out niche. Test things out until we figure it out, without the consequence being death. You will be surprised what you can do.

It's time to live up to your potential.

And if you need someone to speak to, you may find me in the library or in my classroom.

[and true to his word, he can be found in either place, at varying times in the day, mostly just trying to relax. He's not doing much else, really, just trying to keep himself calm before the storm!]

Much as I appreciate that you outlined what things can be gained from this mission, could you try not to terrify them with it? This should be more exciting and I swear between you and Espio they seem to think we're planning to line them up against a wall and shoot them.

[He loves you Ardos, really.]

Not especially. While what you say is a possibility, it isn't an absolute and people have a tendency to let their fears lead them to wrong conclusions. Moreover, the purpose of this mission isn't to beat them within an inch of their life or anything.

I know, and while I appreciate that, what I'm trying to say is that miscommunication is very easy on these things. Blunt is fine, but if you wish to allay their fears you have to first know what those fears are, or you can accidentally induce more fear instead of less.

Fear can be good, but it can also be bad, especially if there is too much. This case is more like the latter.
fierybluebird: (you found me)

Yes, on both accounts.

No problem, let me know if there's anything more I can do to help.
