With the upcoming trip to the Island Closest to Heaven I will be available for assistance and/or last minute training in the firing range.

Do not expect me to hold your hand if you come, but you will learn some skills that will likely be useful.

I will also be available to assist teams on excursions during the three weeks.

[He's somewhat pointedly down to his undershirt, the scars on his shoulders and arms blatantly shown. Not for Reno's benefit but for whomever else shows up, he's pulling a move on those who show up.]

I'll be taking Dark Nation, she could use the exercise out there.

[Okay, that wasn't good.]

[He's just going to lean against one of the lockers and sip his coffee.]

I also don't normally put down my number or specialties, I'm pointedly making myself available to those who have the sense to seek out someone who might know what to do in this situation we're entering.

The scars will get them to ask more questions or at the very least take what I say seriously because I've made mistakes and learned from them.

[Ardos isn't here for training. But he is here to talk.]

I see we're of similar mind.

[Relaxing, Reno huffed and shook his head.]

They're still kids, Tseng. It's one thing dumping a fully trained Turk into that situation. These ones seem a little green.

[He makes a grab for Tseng's coffee. Share with your Turks, chief.]

Some of them don't even seem to be able to fight. And don't think I didn't notice, this's got your name written all over it.

[Without his usual dress shirt and jacket, Tseng's scars are visible.]

That's because you probably listened to the part where nobody was going to actually die.

[Emias wasn't here because of Tseng's invitation, not directly. No, he was here because his first week at Garden was... less than expected. For a military establishment, he expected something a little more out of the ordinary than gossip columns... and when he finally heard of the chance to prove himself, he turned out to be unqualified.

So as soon as he heard about the existence of a firing range, he set out to find it, rifle strapped to his back. Once he gets there, he pauses and steps to the side, keeping quiet. He should've realized that someone would be there training - that's what it was there for, after all.

And the last thing you want to do around someone with a gun is speak up suddenly.]

They're not all going to be allowed to go, and it's a much more controlled environment than we dealt with.

[NOPE. This is his coffee, get your own. He brought a maker down.]

The commander knows what she's doing Reno.

I guess so. Just doesn't seem right for the kids that got pulled from peaceful worlds.

[Well FINE, he'll pour himself a cup. And taking your cream too, so there.]

You hear about that one guy resigning over this?

Indeed. They're given a luxury I never would have gotten. They're quite fortunate.

[He won't flinch at the scars. Scars are a fact of life.]

[Tseng is decidedly more military (of some sort or another) than the gossip column likely let on. Even with the scars on his arms and shoulders visible for once without his usual shirt and jacket he stands like a man who's done this thousands of times.

He darted a look out of the corner of his eyes while he was making a neat series of holes in a target with a high caliber revolver. Empty, he finally speaks.]

It's not every day someone brings their own rifle in.

[He's reloading quickly and without needing to look.]

They signed up for this Reno, they had a choice.

[Unlike a lot of Turks.]

He's lucky this isn't ShinRa, he'd be paperwork.

[They are, and that's the point he's making by showing them.]

They're also being given warning about it and a chance to prepare.

[The scars don't really set him off - Tseng's no more beat up than a few bangaa that he's met, after all - nor does the accuracy, though it does pique his interest. The voice that follows is quiet, and has a fair bit of timid respect in it.]

Not every day I see a h-hume manage to handle a firearm like that, kupo. B-but no. It's as much a necessity as clothes are, kupo... doesn't feel right without it. I'm glad it came with me here.

[Ah yes, hot coffee. Down the hatch.]

He's an idiot. Betting he'll retract it by the time it's over.

[There's a quirk of a smile though.]

I agree, some sort of weapon on you or within arms reach is a wise thing around here.

I'm tempted to suggest showing them what my life was like. It was far more brutal. Thrown into things with little to no preparation.

[Only because you're a Turk.]

I doubt it.

[It's making him feel a little at ease to know at least someone else is taking this seriously. The voice gets a little firmer as he relaxes a bit, though no less soft.]

In general, kupo. You'd think that recruits at a military academy would be better suited...

[He trails off, tugging his hat down over his eyes for a moment, though he does keep muttering to himself, stuffing his hands under his mantle and pacing in mild frustration.]

Thought I'd just shown up in a slow stretch, kupo... but the way they're panicking about field experience... did they think that military work was going to be all diplomacy and zignuts?

[Shaking his head, Reno set his now empty cup down.]

Want to make that bet interesting?

They'd probably just end up pitying you instead of appreciating what they have.

[Tseng always takes things seriously, it's is usual outlook on life really.]

Apparently they did, admittedly the monsters where we're going are strong. Malboros and tonberries may harass them.

[Tseng just refills it for him, and his own.]

They have those here, too? I'd love to know how they're different than back home... Malboro hunting just sounds like "the annoying part of the month" to me, kupo.

[He unstraps the rifle, looking it over before unfastening some shot to feed into it.]
