[After having seen what he thought might be an airship from the Balamb Garden view looking down on Balamb Town, Vaan enters town, intent on finding the airship and examining it.]

[Unfortunately, Vaan only finds himself in front of the train station, with a man selling stupid trinkets to tourists, trying to make him buy fertility beads or a big turquoise fish head hat. A real best-seller.]

Nghh… this is going all wrong…

[Vaan sounds pitiful, his voice tinged with obvious disappointment. Sprawled out on the steps, he watches the daily happenings in front of him. He has maybe a hour or so before he needs to get back to the Garden.]

[ Sheesh, talk about prices. Then again, in her head, she almost equates this to Japan's currency. But before she takes out her amount, glances back at Vaan. ]

You have enough money?

[Vaan's face is saying it all.]

No.

That's a lot of gil. What about you?

[He just automatically knows. Three thousand of anything? Don't have it.]

[ At this, Chie's face falls. ]

Only enough for me... [ Hey, she can be a smart saver sometimes. ]

[Looking around, Vaan is getting more of a feel for the place and its atmosphere.]

I could sneak on? All we need is that guy distracted. [Yeah, that guy.]

That guy... [ Glances at the ticket man. Blinks. She turns back to Vaan. ]

You sure that's all right?

[Nods.]

Yeah, I used to do stuff like this all the time. They charge too much anyway.

Sheesh... you're telling me. [ Sort of feels a bit cheated that she might have to be the one to actually pay, but it beats doing all of this alone. ]

Alright. I'll do it.

Okay. I'll board when you're getting your ticket. Just... make him look more out toward this direction, [Vaan points the opposite direction from the train] so I can sneak in easier without him seeing? I bet no one ever tries to sneak on these trains, so it should be pretty easy.

It's supposed to leave in a couple minutes, so...

[ She nods after hearing the plan before turning and walking towards the ticket booth. Chances a glance back at Vaan until she's standing right in front of the guy, positioned away from the train, and begins talking to the ticket man. ]

Uh, hey! One ticket to Galbadia, please.

[While Chie is talking to the ticket-man, Vaan slips onto the train, dodging the windows, and settling down into a seat, like he belongs. Easy easy.]

[He waits for Chie. Luckily they train is relatively full and almost ready to leave.]

[ Chie gets her ticket, thanks the ticket man, and goes through the checkout. Crosses the train's threshold and walks down the hall searching for Vaan... ]

[On the lookout for her, Vaan waves her over, feeling comfortable enough to pop out his seat.]

Hey Chie! Over here!

[The last boarding call sounds over the speakers, and the train lurches forward, causing Vaan to wobble a little. He grabs on to a nearby rail-bar.]

[ Chie also starts at the jolt, but gains her bearings before walking over to Vaan and sitting across from him. She grins. ]

It worked!

Totally. Thanks a lot.

You're pretty good.

[The train starts picking up speed now.]

It's pretty nice inside here.

Yeah... [ Looks around and rocks her feet. ] This is definitely better than some of the trains I've been on.
