[Aladdin wasn't quite sure why he'd ended up with a completely different room after the dorms had had that chocolate cockroach infestation, but hey, he hadn't been in his previous one for that long so at least he wasn't attached.

But when he arrived at his new room, it didn't take long for Abu to find something that made the small monkey say something that sounded a lot like 'eeew']

Abu? What is it?

[Aladdin comes over, Carpet floating behind him with curiosity, and picks up what Abu had been holding - a portrait. Which just so happened to portray Jasmine getting married - to Jafar.]

...Jasmine?!

[Touma's barely unpacked from his mission when he hears a shout from down the hall. Couldn't he relax for five minutes before something weird happened? He runs to the sound of the shout and stands in the doorway.]

Is there a problem?

[Aladdin hadn't even realised he'd shouted - he looks up at the new arrival, blinking. Meanwhile, Carpet startles and flies onto the bed, now apparently pretending to just be a normal rug]

What? Oh, uh...nothing. [Aladdin pulls the portrait away, trying to hide it from Touma's view. It's clear from his expression that he's unsettled, though]

If you say so. [Though his tone clearly says otherwise; it comes out more like "it's not nothing; do I look new or something?"

[Carpet gets a brief glance, but nothing more; Touma is more concerned about Aladdin.]

[still hiding the picture, Aladdin tries changing the subject] So, I haven't seen you around before. I'm Aladdin.

That would be because I'm a SeeD; I've only just returned from a mission. I'm Touma H. Norstein [he extends a hand, though Touma's gaze is still on whatever Aladdin's hiding], and I'll shortly be starting my apprenticeship as Garden's doctor and psychiatrist.

[Aladdin takes Touma's hand, but then gives him a puzzled look.] Uh...psychiatrist? [Abu clambers up Aladdin's shoulder, looking at Touma with similar confusion]

[For a second, Touma returns that puzzled look, because he's more used to people confusing psychiatrist and psychologist than just having no idea, but just as quickly he's back to polite neutrality.] Basically a doctor for the mind.

Oh, okay. Like for people who are funny in the head, right? I didn't know that there were any doctors that could heal them.

[Psychiatry, sadly, was not really an art known in Agrabah (and certainly not to street rats)]

[Well that was more than a little alarming. Where there still people from other worlds causing trouble? Nepeta scurries towards the sound, looks around, and is relieved to see that Aladdin appears unharmed]

Looking for someone? No, sorry - I was just surprised.

[surprise doesn't cover it. Aladdin looks down at the portrait, unsettled. It's not real - Jafar's not even human anymore, not to mention trapped in the Cave of Wonders. But that doesn't explain why or how this ended up here]

[Nepeta's arrival seems to have startled Carpet, who flies around Aladdin to hide behind him]

Nepeta? Yeah, I'm fine. I just found something I didn't expect, that's all. [Aladdin frowns at that something. It doesn't make any sense.]

[...what was that?? She looks bewildered for a moment, but decides to save the question of the...carpet thing for later.]

...was it a picture?

[Aladdin blinks]

...How did you know that?

[Touma's eyebrow twitches. That description-- it's like talking to Masaru.]

... Yes. And that really depends on the severity of the mental illness and the treatment used.

[As he speaks, he's making his way around Aladdin to try and see what he's hiding.]

I got one too. So did a furriend of mine. I think lots of people might be getting them.

Sounds just like normal wounds, huh? [And then Aladdin spots Touma's movement. He was a thief after all, so he knows when someone is being shifty]

What are you doing? [Aladdin eyes Touma suspiciously, while Abu starts to natter angrily]

You did? What did it show? [Aladdin pauses] Did it show something that...couldn't be real?

[She nodded] Definitely impawsible. Not only were the people in it acting completely unlike themselves, but their bodies and blood were all diffurent too.

Bodies and blood were different? What do you mean? [Carpet nudges forward a little too at this, curious]

Uh trolls, we come in two forms. Land dwellers, and sea dwellers. We also have diffurent color blood which defines our caste. Like mine fur example is green. In the picture my furriends and I were all mismatched though.

[Since Aladdin seems to be ok, she can't help but give Carpet a curious look in return.]

Is this another furriend of yours?

[Aladdin sighs with relief. He knows the picture of Jasmine and Jafar couldn't have happened, but he's glad to hear outside confirmation too] So they're definitely not real then.

[Carpet hides again at Nepeta's notice] This is Carpet - don't worry Carpet, she won't hurt you. Nepeta's a friend. [Shyly, Carpet inches out again, floating to 'stand' in front of Nepeta]

Yea, I don't think so. Was it that bad? [She knows Danny was really upset by his. Nepeta isn't upset by hers, just a little puzzled. She couldn't help but be curious what Aladdin's was]

Hi there. I'm Nepeta! Hee, you're really purrty. [Such an intricate design, and bright colors]

Well...[Aladdin might not have been so keep to show other people, but Nepeta at least was a friend. And now that he knew it definitely wasn't real, at least, showing someone else wouldn't be so bad. He held out the picture.] That's Jasmine, my fiance. [Who is marrying someone clearly not Aladdin]

[Carpet perks up at the attention, flying around Nepeta happily. It does like its design too!]

[She took the picture and looked at it, seeming confused.]
