[It's noon on a Saturday, and the weather's nice... which means it's just wrong to be sitting in the library.

Besides, the librarian kicked him out for spinning one of his Frisbees around his finger while he read, which is why Lea's occupying a bench and half of the edge of a raised flowerbed in the Quad, a book open in his lap. This place is gonna kill him by making his brain explode. It's an evil plot. Or something like that. He keeps spinning the Frisbee in alternate directions around the fingers of his left hand, stopping occasionally to turn pages and take notes.

Finally, frustrated, he tosses the book back on his flowerbox edge pile and flops out backward along the bench, feet up on the opposite arm. The metal disc goes over his face to shade it from the sun. His voice echoes weirdly in the sheet metal.]

This totally sucks!

[HE DIDN'T SEE YOU THERE and so he's sitting up abruptly with a squawk.]

Oh, hey, Toph! We've got to memorize all of this stupid rule book and there's this paper I've gotta write. [More than one, actually, but he's gonna end up beating his head against the bench if he thinks about it too hard.] Since when does learning how to hit things take so much paperwork?

But perhaps for the best. It broke her out of the hypnotic trance she had been in enough for her to scamper forward towards him just in time to hear him speak]

Yeah, apparently, it's how blind people read and write here. [Snort] I'm thirteen and I've managed just fine not being able to read or write, I don't know why I have to start now. It's not like I won't be with someone who can see whenever I go on a mission, anyway.

My name is-- [but her attention instantly shifts to the frisbee and her eyes go wide as saucers. Once again she is staring at it go round and round and round...and then she shifts down, crouching low to the ground, tail high in the air. Just waiting for the right opportunity to pounce.]

Sounds like a plan. [He moves his books back to the end of the bench so they don't fall in the dirt and bounces to his feet.] Do you know what they've got for lunch today? I hope it's hamburgers again.

[Sorry, Lea, but this one is now on a mission. She crouches a little bit lower and then launches herself into the air, trying to grab ahold of that frisbee with her mouth.

Whoa, careful! [That thing has sharp edges! Also, he'd rather not get bitten, which means he's tossing it away over the bench into the flowerbed...]

[Miss! And aww :(( she...shakes her head out though. Now that it isn't being spun in such a hypnotic manner she's got a hold of herself.]

Eheh, sorry. It just looked... [Actually she's not even quite sure what happened there. But she gives Lea her attention again, and only now realizes that he called her name]
