*...he's not exactly comfortable in the uniform. Oh, it fits fine, he can move perfectly well in it, it's even a little bit stylish. But the fact remains that this is a uniform for a SeeD, or at least somebody who wants to be a SeeD... along with everything that implies, although he doesn't much know what it implies yet, considering how little he's familiar with the workings of this crazy place.

But it's for a SeeD. And Murasame Tsukumo isn't really a SeeD, or anyone who wants to be. He is a Zweilt. And it's more than a little disorienting that that means nothing here.

He's wandering around the Quad right now after dinner, listening to the murmur of mental voices around the Garden and continuing to try and get his bearings. It might be hard to believe he's really in a different world from where he was before, except... not only is nobody around him speaking Japanese, he can't sense his sister's voice anywhere. He's never been so far away from Touko that he couldn't still hear her before, and it's a little scary. Not knowing anyone, not hearing anyone familiar.

.....clearly the solution is candy. So don't mind him as he stops right in the middle of the courtyard to dig around his pockets before producing a package of gummies.*

*staring at it mournfully, mumbling to himself in Japanese*

*well, that was something he wasn't expecting to hear. Tsukumo glances up in the girl's direction with a slighly surprised blink, then nods a little, feeling her out as he walks closer. Worried about being polite enough...? He smiles a little at that, the expression gentle and warm and faintly amused. Not to mention slightly relieved.*

*cocking his head at her a little curiously, voice soft-spoken* Your accent is quite good. I didn't expect to meet anyone else who spoke Japanese here.

[ That makes her blush a little. She once mistakenly used a word in place of 'to oppose' which should never be used in place of 'to oppose', but that was thankfully only to Suzaku and he was kind enough to correct her. =w=;;; She's studied a lot harder since then. But she did study Japanese culture and language exhaustively before taking her post as Vice Governor.

Really, though. No amount of study prepares you for an entirely different country.

She smiles back at him, wondering if she should offer her hand only a moment before thinking, to heck with it. She only landed on Suzaku when they met. So she offers while pondering exactly what to say since he evidently doesn't recognize her. With this time compression thing, for all she knows he doesn't know her at all. Which. ...wouldn't be a bad thing, really. ]

He returns the gesture with a gentle grip, then goes back to his candy, pulling the package open a little more.*

He follows without further prompting, sparing a brief mournful glance toward the trees as they head toward the door to go inside -- he hasn't quite gotten aroun to making friends with the local birds yet.*

I mostly self-studied in Britannia, though I did have an instructor for a time. I picked up more once I was actually in Japan, and there I've had the help of a good friend.

[ Euphie's cheeks tinge pink as she thinks of Suzaku, and she bites her lip a little at the reminder. Oh, that Suzaku. Surely he was blaming himself for this by now. ]

...Britannia? *blink. The word doesn't ring a bell.

He pauses as she begins to think about the boy apparently named 'Suzaku', though, brow furrowing just slightly with a concerned look. He'd like to say something, but... well. He'll have to find a way to reassure her about feeling guilty without letting on what he can hear.*

It's a democratic country. It was an empire until... about sixty or seventy years ago. We still have an emperor, but he's more of a figurehead. We had a war that ended in a change in government, but... it's been a peaceful place since then.
