Action post 1. In which Marvelous doesn't know what's going on

[Wherever this place was (Fisherman something or other), Marvelous wasn't exactly thrilled by it. All he knew was he woke up, there were papers with him that he glanced over before throwing them in a trash bin and walking out on his own into the town itself.

He will be wandering around, generally lost and the confusion is pretty much clear on his face.]

[Max takes a sip as he digests the information.]

Can't say. I haven't heard of it happening yet, but I haven't done much research into the other sponsorship than mine. My guess would be a no, over all.

They do, however, help about a limit of 20 for each 'ship and it doesn't matter if they're already sponsoring a double of yours.

[So it likely was going to be that his and Joe's sponsorship would be revoked, they'd be on their own and the two of them would need to find their own way to get money and a ship.

Fine by him.]

And without a sponsor, we're on our own in a world where people are afraid of us.

[He grins at that a bit.]

Sounds like fun.

[Max raises her brow in a bit of a look. That's a curious statement, and one that doesn't sound as if they have the most noble of intentions -- not that that bothers her much. Still, she feels as if she should clarify.]

Less fear, overall, and more general dislike. We're outsiders to them.

Enough fear that they're willing to shoot on sight. [He wasn't sure of this but, he heard it from someone else.]

Wouldn't know about that, but I do know the weapons around here vary more than just guns.

[Max actually hasn't heard about too much of that kind of hostility here.]

[Weapons other than guns were fine by Marvelous. He's dealt with just about anything.

But nonetheless, conversation was rather pointless now that the food had arrived and, after picking at it to make sure it wasn't going to bite him back, Marvelous just dove right in to food without saying a word to Max.]

[Max ate quietly, wondering about what was going on in the mind of the man in the seat across from her. After a bit, she glanced up. Honestly, she knew nothing about this guy other than he spoke Japanese -- or whatever Japanese equaled to in his world, was used to seeing other worlds, liked to eat meat and cared little at the option for the military school or the fact that some people were hostile to them outside of it. It was something, but not enough to quell her curiosity.]

I'm Max.

[As he was stuffing his face, he looked up curiously as she told him her name. She may have figured out that much about him but, as for him guessing about her...he just figured she wanted information and was nosy.]

Captain Marvelous. [No, he didn't have the courtesy to swallow his food before speaking.]

[Close enough, Cap. She did want to help you, but hey -- if he offered up info, she wasn't going to tell him to shut up.

She tries very hard to ignore his table manners. Just getting out of high school has allowed her to rather well with that task.]

Captain Marvelous. That a hero handle?

No.

[Om nom nom.]

[Well, that was succinct.]

Stage name?

No.

[That's heroes, theater, and all that's left is ...]

Ship captain?

[There's a pirate at this school. It's a valid question.]

[Finally she gets it. Kind of. Swallowing his food, Marvelous just gives her a smirk.]

Pirate captain.

Huh.

[She seems ... unsurprised.]

Second pirate I've met, then.

[Marv assumes she means Joe so he just shrugs.]

He works for me.

[Somehow she doubts that Marco works for him... but she's not about to admit that and instead see of what info she can get out of him.]

Does he? I didn't get his name earlier, he was walking too quickly.

Figures.

[Joe would do that. He wasn't a people person.]

[...Okay, so she was going to have to be less subtle.]

So, what is his name?
