[A person in a fencing uniform is attempting to balance a cello case, a bow case, a large duffel bag, and a school bag. The fencing helmet is balancing precariously on the duffel bag, revealing that the person trying to carry all of it is a teenaged girl. A very annoyed teenaged girl.]

Tommy! Tommy! This isn't cute or funny or whatver you think this is. I have to get back to school!

[The fencing helmet finally falls off the duffel bag, and the teenaged girl mutters a curse as she goes after it.]

I'm going to kill him...

[This is also a teenaged girl that hasn't found her acceptance letter yet, so feel free to troll her accordingly. Or, you know, help her out. Whatever you'd prefer.]

[Botan shakes her head with an apologetic smile.]

I'm sorry, but I haven't seen anything like that. Perhaps he didn't slip through the stream of the Time Compression with you?

The what now?

[Botan startles, looking surprised.]

Oh my, you must've just arrived here, haven't you?

I told you--I didn't arrive, my friend dropped me here.

He might not of done it, dear.

[Botan begins to explain the entire deal about the Time Compression.]

Many people have arrived in this world due to a "slip" through the time stream, brought upon by a ripple effect from an event known as the Time Compression that happened twenty years ago, yet in the future, simultaneously.

I... Seriously?

Completely and utterly, I'm afraid.

So how do we get back?

Unfortunately, no one has been able to come up with a way for us to return to our home worlds. At times, some people seem to slip right away and, we presume, return to their worlds.

[She lets that sink in for a moment.]

However, while here, the Garden works with a sponsorship for those misplaced to attend it's military school here. There are other places than the Garden, for people to live at, but many aren't as welcoming to us "outsiders".

So... my options are military school or nothing?

No, there are other places. I am just stating that the Garden is the most welcoming to the situation you find yourself in now. [She gives an understanding smile.] Believe me, I know.

So this military school is called "The Garden"? That's a little tongue in cheek, isn't it?

[Botan chuckles good naturedly.]

A bit, but as SeeDs or our graduates often grow up here, it does fit.

[Fights a chuckle.] That's even worse.

Maybe, but we do have rather lovely gardens about the Quad~

I guess it can't hurt to take a look around... [Shifts her weight because her stuff is starting to weight her down.]

Here, let me help you with that and I can give you a tour, as well.

[She holds out her hand, offering to take some of the items.]

I got it; it's all pretty heavy. Thanks though.

I will take the tour if it's not too much trouble, though. Might as well, right?

If you're sure...

[She nods.]

Get a feel for the place, then make your decision. If you're hungry, we can start with the cafeteria?

Actually, if it's not too much to ask, can we end there?

Not a problem~ It'd probably be easier, letting you rest, eat and absorb all the information.

[Momentary think-y look.]

Let's see now... We can start with the Quad, then the Infirmary and pass by the lobby again and go through everything to end up at the cafeteria! Sound alright with you?

Yeah, sure. You're the guide, um... I never got your name.

Oh, sorry!

[She offers an apologetic, yet no less cheerful, smile.]

I'm Botan, one of the Instructors here. I'll answer whatever questions you have as best I can.

[She leads her to the Quad, gesturing to it with a sweep of her arm.]

And this is the Quad. Many students and instructors use this space to relax and have a bit of fun.
