Option A: Lobby

[Toph is leaning against the directory with her arms crossed, unamused. The letter and course catalog are by her feet, untouched.

She's blind, Cid. Why the hell did you give her stuff to read? She's just going to stand here and people 'watch' for a while. Passerbys are free to notice her bare feet or blank stare. If you talk to her, she won't look at you.]

Option B: Quad

[Later, after lunch, Toph is sitting against a convenient wall, apparently doing nothing. People walking by her, however, have a tendency to trip and glance back at the ground behind them, swearing there was a dip there only to find that the ground is just as flat as it's always been.

She's bored and making people look like idiots is entertaining.]

[Nepeta notices this. The bare feet barely register to her, but the fact that the catalog are strewn on the floor and that she appears sullen do. Eh, why not. She approaches Toph. She is obviously new.]

Do you need help with something?

[You won't put one over on a highly trained ninja that easily. Rather than walk past, Edge leans up against the wall next to her.]

What's the trick there?

[ A spacey looking blonde girl was too distracted looking at the clouds to really pay attention to the feet underneath her, and as such, trips.

She stops, blinks, and looks down at the ground ]

Oh. That's unusual.

[Unfortunately Conner's one of those people she ends up tripping with her bending. One of his books drops to the ground and he looks down at the ground beneath his feet in surprise. And then his brows drop in a glare.]

Impossible.

[Switching between classes and his dorm Zuko's heading for the elevator to get his other books for his other class. He glances off towards the directory and continues on as if there was nothing out of the ordinary there. Then his head swivels back around and him with it. For a minute he swears he's seeing things, he has to be.

Change of direction-- class can wait.

Zuko heads over to the directory with his eyes glued to the back of her head. No one else he knows has a short bob of black hair like that.]

...Toph?

[Being the weekend, Katara is heading to the pool for a swim when her eyes spot the small Earthbender standing near the directory. She's shocked at the sight for several moments, but after it sinks in Katara immediately runs toward her friend.]

Toph! You're back!

[Aang is passing through the quad when he notices all these people tripping, so he looks around the area to see if the ground is just more bumpy than usual. Instead, he spots Toph sitting off against a wall and he runs over to her, smiling widely.]

Toph! You're back!

[Sup Toph. Here's a chipper sounding voice near by. You might not of even felt the ground vibrations as he ... uh... might've been riding her oar.]

Are you new here, dear?

[Well. Balamb Garden isn't exactly crawling with earthbenders, so it isn't like Sokka actually needs to watch where he's treading. Not at a place where he's used to the floor being, y'know, flat.

So it's when he suddenly trips over seemingly NOTHING that he stumbles forward a couple steps, waving an arm to keep his balance and dropping the books he's been carrying.]

AWWWW!! [With an annoyed groan, he stoops to pick them up.]
