[There's really only one thing to do when you've been interdimensionally kidnapped and find yourself in a strange new world full of strange new people, strange new abilities and strange new... other things.

No, you don't run in circles and flail your arms around. That would be silly. Fun, but silly. You go to the library. No, you don't flail there, either.

This is why you might spot an annoyed, somewhat frazzled-looking (but still HANDSOME) blond guy in the library, browsing the shelves for basic info on this Strange New World, capitals intended.

First off I'd recommend the geography class then. And these books. [Pulls out three or four, which cover the basic cultures and geography, but only of the major countries.] For monsters, same on the bestiary class, the assigned book for that helps, so does Triple Triad if you're into cards.

It's a card game, but the cards are using the various monsters of this world that have to be fought. And it helps to keep track of some of the things they can do and how strong they are.

For cadets, there's always the training center which can be just as often as you like. One time we crash landed and had to deal with the monsters there, but the instructors and SeeDs handled a lot of it if you're worried. As a SeeD, it depends on what field you go into. There's always piloting or medicine if fighting isn't your thing. And if it is your think, I think quite a few of the missions involve it -- some more than others.

Believe it or not, I've known people who've been here for months and still never wanted to go that in depth, it's worth asking. Some of the kids that show up only want so far as they need to go in order to pass the classes.

Sometimes there are... sort of duplicates of the same person. Different "versions" or from different worlds where key things were done differently.
