First action | Open to Everyone | Cafeteria

It was his way of alerting the others of his presence quietly. His hot butter raisin scones were popular back in Wayne Manor and they did have a distinctive taste and smell. Alfred left the door between the cafeteria and the kitchen open although not conspiculously so. Just a tiny bit to encourage company.

He knew he'd be expecting them shortly. If you were to walk in you would see a middle age man taking some buns out of the oven. Strangely he wears white gloves, even under his oven mitts, and he's much more formal looking than an ordinary cook would be.

Without even turning around he tells you, "Please, do come in."

[Cid has to admit that the smell coming from the cafeteria--or rather, the kitchen, he soon discovers--is rather better than usual, and when he peers in, he finds an individual dressed far more formally than the norm as well.

...Has there always been a butler at the Garden?

In any case, if he's being invited inside, Cid's not one to refuse, especially when it smells so nice in the kitchen.

Pardon my intrusion. [Looking around, it doesn't take him long to notice the scones.] I couldn't help but notice the wonderful aroma...

A pleasure to meet you, Mr. Pennyworth. I am Cid Raines, an instructor here.

[Typically speaking, at this point Cid would offer his hand for a handshake, but seeing as Alfred currently has his hands full, he merely dips his head in greeting.]

And thank you. Are you a new... chef here?

[Cid reaches over and carefully plucks a single scone off of the tray.]

Four hours? You settle in quickly.

[He smiles briefly.]

Have you managed to find anyone familiar to you thus far?
