001 [Action-Garden Entrance]
[It had been a long year since Lightning had last been here, walking through the turnstiles to get back into Garden. One year of chasing a monster all over the continent without any backup. One more year with only her thoughts as company, and not so much as a clue to get home for it. Just more gil and a teaching job to look forward to come morning.
Nothing had changed, really. Not even the place looked different as Lightning looked up, eyes narrowing in thought. Would she ever find a way back? Hard to say. But she was going to try, and standing around wasn't going to solve anything. So she stepped forward, never turning her head from what was in front of her.
It would honestly be a wonder if she didn't crash into someone or something, at the pace she was following.]

[He almost didn't dare say it. No. This had to be some sort of trick. Things like this never happened. People got taken away not brought back. He looks completely dumbstruck for a moment before.
Tears well up in his eyes but he shakes them away. Nothing this good EVER happened to him. This was her. The actual Lightning. The one who saved his life over, and over, and over.
He runs towards her... hesitating for just a second before he puts his arms around her.]

[Lightning doesn't hesitate, just wrapping her arms around Hope and holding him close the moment he wraps his arms around her middle. Something has gone terribly wrong for him to not know her immediately, but right at this moment, she doesn't care. She's just trying to reassure him the only way she knows how, and that's by hugging him.
They both needed this. That much she knows.]

I... I never thought I'd see you again.
no subject
I'm sorry. If I'd known you were here I'd have come back sooner. [Much sooner. No monster would have given her the runaround if she'd known part of her family was here.]
no subject
I... I didn't even know you were here. But... It doesn't matter. You're back.
no subject
Yeah, I am. You're not losing me that easily. [If at all. Though her reassurances probably...aren't so good.]
no subject
There's... There's a reason I thought we'd lost you.
[Hope's grip was unrelenting, and he didn't want to tell her... but there was a sense of duty and... someone had to do it. But... maybe he should wait for Snow and Serah? Yeah. Snow and Serah. That's the best plan.]
But... I'll explain later. When Serah and Snow are here.
no subject
Whatever it is, Lightning intends to fix it as soon as she can. If that means squashing her curiousity until Serah and Snow get here...well, so be it.]
Okay. If that's what you want to do, we'll do it.
[She trusts him to know what he's sure of. Always has.]
no subject
[And... that came out awkwardly. Because Hope can't be in a hug this long without reverting to the ancient art of herp-a-derping.]
I'm glad- well. I'm glad you get to see me become a SeeD.
no subject
[And she did. Not a day had gone by that, on some level, she hadn't missed her family. Serah, him, and even Snow. But the three of them were there and she was back and wasn't that all that mattered?
It was to her, until Hope mentioned that she hadn't missed his graduation. So she'll just be pulling back enough to look him in the eyes, smiling proudly.]
Yeah. Me too, Hope.

I'm learning a lot. A lot about this world... If it's going to be our home we should know about it. So... I'm taking Sociology, Political Science and International law.
no subject
Doesn't mean she's any less proud as she listens to him, though. He's always been a smart kid; that hasn't changed.]
And how's that working out for you?
no subject
[Hope smiled and gave an enthusiastic nod.]
I'm enjoying it. My practical classes are cool too. I'm taking Rock Climbing.
no subject
[His enthusiasm is pretty near contagious as Lightning lets go all the way, nodding a bit herself. Rock Climbing is probably doing him a lot of good.]
So you've been doing alright, then. That's good to know.
no subject
[Does he mention- She'll ask anyway.]
Well. I arrived before classes started and I got this really vicious virus. I was in with the doctor for nearly a month and a half.
no subject
But it's passed now, right? The doctor wouldn't have let you go otherwise...[At least, she thinks so.]
no subject
I was fine for a week and a half before she finally let me go.
no subject
Yeah, she's...stubborn that way. I think she was like that before any of us got here.
no subject
I'm majoring in Battlefield Medicine. So I become an intern for a quarter. But that's after I take Biology and Anatomy.
[Hope gives a nod.]
I'm already taking Biology. Anatomy next quarter. I have it all planned.
no subject
Then it shouldn't take that long for you to finish your major. Not if you stick to that plan of yours.
no subject
This... is so weird. It's... hard to take in that you're here... the real you.
[Hope shuffled a little wondering whether he should wait. I mean... she did need to be prepared.]
We... should go find Serah and Snow.
no subject
Where do you think they'll be? The dorms?
