001 [Action-Garden Entrance]

[It had been a long year since Lightning had last been here, walking through the turnstiles to get back into Garden. One year of chasing a monster all over the continent without any backup. One more year with only her thoughts as company, and not so much as a clue to get home for it. Just more gil and a teaching job to look forward to come morning.

Nothing had changed, really. Not even the place looked different as Lightning looked up, eyes narrowing in thought. Would she ever find a way back? Hard to say. But she was going to try, and standing around wasn't going to solve anything. So she stepped forward, never turning her head from what was in front of her.

It would honestly be a wonder if she didn't crash into someone or something, at the pace she was following.]

[Don't take it personally Lightning, but Serah's first reaction is to flinch and take a step back out of her reach. Which is understandable really. Last time she'd tried to come into physical contact with her sister she'd ended up lying on the floor on her back.]

[That said, that tone of voice is so, so very different from what she's slowly getting used to hearing. So she looks at her older sister carefully, trying to figure out just what's going on.]

Lightning?

[Serah's flinch causes Lightning to draw her hand back, holding it just above her chest in that old nervous habit from her l'Cie days. Her own sister is scared of her. What in the world happened while she was gone to cause this?

Still, this is Serah. Whatever happened, she's going to try and fix it. No matter how much it stings to see Serah step away from her.]

Yeah. It's me.

[Whatever Serah sees in Lightning's face, it apparently reassures her enough to take a step forward. Then slowly, with a little hesitation she reaches out with one hand, eyes searching her sister's face carefully the entire time.]

Am I dreaming? I can't believe it's really you.

[Please excuse her if any tears start to fall, it's been a tough couple of months.]

What if I'm wrong and you're not who I think you are?

[Lightning holds still, not moving other than to re-extend her hand towards Serah, trying to offer reassurance and stop those tears before they can truly begin to fall. Lightning's touch against Serah's extended hand should be enough to let her know she's not dreaming, but the other question seems to require a spoken answer.]

Who else would I be?

[At her touch, a familiar mixture of strength and gentleness that symbolizes the sister she knows and loves, Serah swallows heavily and then practically launches herself at Lightning with no hesitation.]

It doesn't matter, because you're here now and it's really you!

[So much clinging is going on right now, she's needed this.]

[Lightning has to take a step back at the momentum behind Serah launching herself towards her, but it doesn't take long before she has her arms around Serah in return, just holding on without saying a word. It's obvious to her that Serah needs this, and Lightning...well, she'd never turn her sister down. Not anymore.

Of course, the fact that she needs this too helps matters quite a bit. There will be much clinging for some time. Lightning doesn't really care who sees them at this moment.]

[After everything that's happened it's so good to see her sister again. It's even better to just back in her hug though. Lightning might be her big sister, but she's also like a surrogate mom just a little bit. Which means her hugs are certainly important and very much loved.]

[After a little while she pulls away a little reluctantly.] We should go. The others need to know you're here.

[She smiles up at Lightning, practically glowing with happiness.] Snow, Hope, Vanille, and Sazh are all here now. I can't wait to see the look on Hope's face, he'll be so happy!

[With that she reaches out for Lightning's hand, her intent to escort Lightning through the dorms fairly clear.]

[Though Lightning herself really has no desire to pull away, she lets Serah go and just listens. Hope, Snow, Vanille, Sazh...how long's it been? Over a year and she's missed each one of them. Even Snow.]

It'll be good to see them again.

[It really would be, so Lightning just takes Serah's hand, letting her little sister lead her towards the dorms even though she knows the way. After all this time, what's letting herself get led by family?]

[She couldn't hog Lightning all to herself after all, so she had to make sure the rest of the family heard the good news. There's time for more hugs later.]

We've all really missed you. It's like a wish come true, without having to use any wish granting fireworks!

[Serah hadn't even stopped to consider the fact that Lightning could very well get to the dorms by herself. All he can think about is how great it is to have her sister again and how much she wants to tell everyone else the good news.]

[Now that Lightning is here, there will be time for more hugs and there will be more hugs. And she knows exactly what her little sister means about the wish, even if she won't comment on it.]

I'm not even sure they have those here, Serah.

[But Light is here, and that's what matters, isn't it?]

[Lots and lots of hugs? Serah could get used to that. It certainly sounds nice anyway.]

Well they have fireworks, so why can't they be wish granting ones? Just because they don't think of them as wish granting fireworks doesn't mean that they aren't.

[Yes, that's exactly what matters. She's got her family now and everything else is kind of beside the point.]

[Well, perhaps not lots and lots, but certainly more than she had before.]

Depends on who you ask. They'd have to think of them to be wish granting fireworks for it to have a chance of working.

[Everything else, including Lightning shaking her head at herself for talking about this kind of thing. She's gone and gotten soft again.]

[More than none? Lightning certainly has her work cut out for her then.]

I guess we should tell everyone about them then. So that way they can be wishing fireworks for everyone at Garden.

[Now now, if Lighting can't be soft with her own little sister what sort of world would it be?]

[It might be hard, but she'll manage somehow. She has to!]

It would be easier to make some kind of announcement about it than telling everyone one by one.

[A very sad world. One in which...well, one in which there's no Farron Family, extended or otherwise.]

[Awwe. Best sister of the year award right there.]

Maybe I'll make a post about it on the BBS later. That might work, don't you think?

[Which is a super sad world. The Farron family is awesome especially with it's newer additions.]

[Save the award; all that matters to her is that Serah is happy.]

It should. Just about everyone reads it, so it'll get out to more people.

[With those additions, the Farron family kicks so much arse. Without them...well, it's harder to get that arse kicked.]

[Too bad. Serah's going to frame it and put it up on the wall for everyone to see. So there.]

It'll work, you'll see. So far everything I've wished for has come true!

[Either way, arse is kicked, it's just faster with more people. That's all.]
