[It was bad enough that Espio saw his own reality collapse as he was dragged out of and thrown into this world. His friends, family, and everyone were all dead, as far as he was aware, and he had no home to return to.
To see it all happening again, however... Time Compression had a cruel sense of humour, Espio was now convinced.
He had the opportunity to save everyone - he knew what was happening, he knew what could have stopped it, and he had people there to help. And he did his best! He really did! But... despite all his best efforts, it was all for nothing. Everything Espio had ever known before coming here was still gone. He just felt so... powerless. Useless. Alone, stranded on an alien world with just a handful of friends who had never even seen the Special Zone.
All of a sudden, it all just seemed so pointless. If he couldn't work for his home, his friends, his family... what was he working for? And what would happen to him should Time Compression send him back to the empty void that was once his home - would he die? Would he even have enough time to realise what was happening?
The unusually quiet and disheartened Espio was pretty much sticking to his room for now, only occasionally venturing out for a walk. He's not eaten for at least three days, is sleeping on and off, and - to take his mind off it - only occasionally flicking through a book. The most energy he's spent recently has been convincing Marco to eat.
