o2. ♌ action set in training center
[So usually when a nice person warns you about not going into a place because it is forested and full of dangerous animals that will try to eat you, people tend to listen no?
Nepeta not so much. To her credit, she waited a while so that she could recover a bit, but she was mostly a walking bruise underneath her baggy clothing and oversized jacket. Pretty much everything Duo had said when he described the training center were things that appealed to her. Forest, shrubbery, wildlife--she was a girl who had been more or less raised herself in the wild and had hunted for animals much, much larger than herself. The training center sounded like heaven in comparison to the rest of the crowded and overly bright Garden.
It was so strange. She always use to love meeting new people, but this was the first time she'd ever actually had to face so many strangers at once and it was rather unnerving. Her life had been a mostly solitary one, and while she didn't mean to avoid people she just...thought she needed some time alone right now. She fully intended to return to her dorm every now and then, if only because of how fond she was of Ronnae, but right now?
Nepeta was looking for a cave to live in. This was probably against the rules of this place but screw the rules. How would they know?
She paused, hearing a wrestle behind her. Was that one of the monsters she had been warned about? Her claws extended in preparation and she gave the air a sniff before relaxing. No, not a monster. It was a person.]
((ooc; mostly for john-mun but if anyone else wants to hit Nepeta up, you are welcome! Just a heads up that she'll like be cagey/avoidant of strangers right now.))

Suddenly training had a lot more importance than it did before.]
[He'd found a hammer in one of the utility closets. A nice sledgehammer. It was kind of funny, actually. At the beginning of Sburb he had so much trouble lifting these things, now they were hardly any trouble at all.]
[He shrugged that off and headed inside. Now was not the time for second thoughts or silly lamentations. Now was the time for some Mangrit!!]

It was a human. Not much of a surprise there. Aside the other trolls now here, the only other non-humans she had come across were Ronnae and Espio.
What was surprising was who it was, though really Dave had told her John was here. She quietly watched him for a moment, half considering just backing out and going to some other area of the training center but something held her there]
You're Dave's furriend, right?
[Surprise Nepeta from those bushes behind you, John]
no subject
[Of course when someone talks to him he about jumps. He looks over and blinks at--oh hey. It was another troll! Maybe this was the one he hadn't met yet since she seemed to know Dave.]
Hehehe, caught me. Hi, I'm John.
no subject
[She remained low to the ground but raised her head towards him curiously, ears and tail flicking]
I'm Nepeta.
no subject
Are you um, training, too?
no subject
Not fur now. I'm just looking fur a cave! Have you seen any by any chance?
no subject
Ah, but there are supposed to be these huge dinosaurs, so if you do be careful.
no subject
Hope this is okies >.>
She blinked at Nepeta a few times before looking at her concerned.]
H-hey are you alright?
of course! <3
I am! I was just doing some exploring. This is my furst time in here so I'm not entirely sure what to expect. [other than dinosaurs]
no subject
You should be careful around the place, there's no real 'secure' area as far as I've seen. One moment you find some runts, and the next you see massive creatures. It can be really dangerous, but I guess that was the point considering you have to train hard here.
[She placed a hand at each of her swords and smiled warmly at Nepeta.]
I can't have you gettin' hurt, so I'll be your escort until you find what you were lookin' for and we head out for a nice meal. Sound good?
no subject
[The talk of food definitely made her perk up a bit. She was not a picky eater by any stretch of the imagination, but she had had to be careful with what and how much she ate for the weeks of her recovery. Being able to eat what she wanted again was great, so she was not turning down that proposition.]
That sounds grrreat! [she pushed herself up to her feet] I was mostly doing some explorin'! This place is the closest thing to my old home that I've seen in months.
no subject
Well, let's continue then shall we? I haven't found anything in here that has posed an impossible challenge yet. Then again I come from a world where fighting colossal behemoths is everyday fare.
[She admitted that last part with a small giggle. It was true too, she was so used to fighting against the odd ever since she could remember. It was common place for her to have been turned into a bladedancer for the war machine known as the Horde. A very skilled one at that.]
no subject
[Truth was she probably liked fighting more than she realized. It was true she didn't like to hurt other people but as long as it was all in good fun she wouldn't turn down a skirmish.]
I haven't really found anything just yet. What are these... 'runts' you mentioned?
no subject
I'm sure we'll run into something, maybe even get lucky and find something big.
no subject
Then lets searching! We'll be a great team I bet!
no subject
[She smiled confidently and went on the prowl with her. She had learned a lot about stalking, prowling and hunting from the family members of the house that specialized in those things. Expert beast masters like Kagejin, or feral druids like Eilistraee.]
no subject
It didn't take long before her nose did pick up something nearby, what, she had no clue being unfamiliar with this world's creatures, but it was something.]
I think there's something not to far, to our left. I can't tell what it is though.
no subject
Well seems we found something alright! Or it found us!
[Ronnae drew her swords as her eyes narrowed and her grin only grew wider. She took on an offensive stance ready to bound towards the creature when it launched its attack, her main purpose however was keeping Nepeta safe.]
Be careful, they can be quite fierce when hungry. Stay a distance away so it doesn't get us both. Don't worry, [Ronnae said with a small playful wink at Nepeta.] I'll protect ya~
no subject
Got it! [She nodded at Ronnae's instructions and winked back. This thing definitely looked like it had some tough skin so it wouldn't go down easy, but she was confident they would be fine.
She pressed her fingers against the palm of the gloves she wore, and out extended some long claws.]
no subject
She rolled right under the creature's massive snapping jaw and leaped right after into a spin, slashing the beast's haunches deeply with her two swords before shouting an unnatural taunt to get back it's attention when the beast headed for its next target.
Almost instantly the massive creature stopped it's charge on Nepeta and turned back to Ronnae, leaving his backside completely vulnerable for Nepeta to strike as she pleased.]
no subject
Whatever Ronnae had done it was certainly doing its magic and she felt stronger than she ever had.
She wasted no time in bounding forward like a predator and scaling up the beast's tail to its head to plunge her claws into its eyes and efficiently blind it. It gave a vicious shake of its head, sending her flying off but true to catch nature she landed on her feet.
Still, she felt the impact of the land throughout her injured body, and it was all she could do to keep from stumbling.]
no subject
She twisted mid-air to avoid a swing from it's claws and held on to it's tail as it swung it hard. On it's way back she let go and let loose a flurry of slashes on the softer underbelly of the creature, easily leaving wide gashes allowing the entrails to loosen and begin falling under the pressure.
It wouldn't take long for the beast to falter after the crippling assault from the two girls, so Ronnae swiped her swords hard against the air to shake the blood off them and sheathed them accordingly before letting her friend deal the killing blow.]
no subject
Figuring out that his comment on the contents of it must have instigated this, he put off going to lunch and followed her into the training center. Be pretty lousy of him to just let her get hurt when he could have stopped it.
Deciding that just following her was boring, he approached her cautiously. After all it's not like he knows her all that well yet.]
So is it what you were expecting it to be?
no subject
I really, really like it. Lots more than the rest of this place [she stuck her tongue out a bit] It's real nice to be back in a furrest...or something like it, anyway. [Not quite the real thing, but she would take what she could get.]
no subject
Shouldn't you be saying that after you've actually gone to class? [He sticks his tongue out back, two can play that game Nepata. So there.] Back in a furrest? So you're used to places like this then?
[He raises an eyebrow.] Even the giant dinosaur monsters? Or are those a new thing for you.
no subject
[The topic change though perked her right up and she nodded to both his questions] I'm tougher than I look, you know! I've been fighting things like giant musclebeasts and other creatures since I was a wiggler!
[Okay, so maybe not since she was a wiggler, but close enough]
no subject
[He grins, not doubting her in the least.] I'll take your word for it. Guessing wiggler for you is like a baby for us humans?
It's just too bad you weren't here when that T-rexaur tried to eat me. Would have been kinda cool to see you take him out. Furr real.
