002 // [dormitory, closed]
[For the first time since arriving in this strange, foreign world, Hermione is actually glad to be there. After the strange and frightful experiences of being transported to two other completely different worlds, she can appreciate the (somewhat) normality of being back in Garden. She's sitting in her dormitory now, the door to her private quarters leading into the common area open as she goes through the process of sorting through her bag once again, making sure everything is in its rightful place.]

... Was this the room? B111? They all looked the same to her. The door was open. Odd. Stepping in, she looked around.]
Hello? Is somebody here?
no subject
May I help you?
no subject
Ah, is this room B111? If so, I believe I'm your new roommate, miss.
no subject
You are? Oh, that's fantastic. My name is Hermione, it's nice to meet you.
[She stands up from her desk and makes her way to Dawn, extending her hand for a handshake.]
no subject
[Dawn reaches out to accept the handshake, her smile growing bigger and becoming more genuine.]
... If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been here?
no subject
I've been here for roughly four months now. I can hardly believe it's been so long...
no subject
[She frowns. She feels a bit guilty now.]
no subject
Oh, don't worry-- I'm not sad, not exactly anyways. My best friends happened to have been swept up by all this as well, so I'm not alone. We just had some... very important things to do back at home.
[But enough talk about that. She redirects the conversation to focus on Dawn.]
Did you just arrive?
no subject
Yes, just today. ... This place certainly is odd, isn't it? I've never heard of evil sorceresses before. At least, not outside of children's books.
no subject
Odd, yes. We don't have any evil sorceresses in our world, either-- I think it's a little unfair for people in this world to assume that all people who possess unique... gifts to be dangerous, don't you think?
i am SO sorry for the amazingly late tag ;;
I don't think I'm in any place to judge. However, persecuting those simply based on skills they were born with does indeed sound corrupt. However... if they all truly are evil, then I suppose generalizing isn't so wrong.
no worries!
I agree, if they are truly evil, then yes. The people here are quick to judge us, however, simply because we are from a different place.
[It's then that Hermione realizes that maybe this isn't the best topic to tread on when you first meet your roommate. So she quickly asks:]
Do you need help moving in?
no subject
[It is a pretty heavy subject. But Dawn doesn't mind! Anyways, back to moving in and what not.]
Oh, not particularly! I didn't have too much on hand when I arrived - Just my bag and... Well, my Luxray. I should be able to settle in just fine. Especially with such a helpful roommate.

I'll lead the way.
[And she does so, exiting the dorm room and into the hallway, heading towards the direction of the Training Center.]
Have you had a chance to explore Garden?
no subject
[As she trails behind Hermione, she allows her eyes to wonder, examining the place from top to bottom. For now, it seemed pretty normal.]
So, is it exciting here?
no subject
Exciting is one way to put it. There's a lot of strange things that happen to the people who have been brought here by Time Compression-- 'side effects', they claim. Just this month, a large group of cadets have been disappearing for a brief period of time, going to different worlds-- sometimes their own, sometimes to another cadet's -- only to return and have it all happen again. Unfortunately, I'd been swept up in it all as well.

[Looks like they've arrived. A couple of grats hop up, and Dawn releases her Luxray.] Luxray! Use fire fang!
sorry for the late tag /)_(\
[But Hermione is interrupted when the animal materializes from the ball. She's startled by the appearance-- it's something of a lion and tiger, but bizarrely colored, not to mention it has a star on its tail. But, there's also something quite... cute about it.
The attack catches her offguard, and she watches as the Luxray uses its attack of the grat.]
Oh! Your pet knows how to fight...?
no prob! <3
[She smiles, as if everything was normal. She was actually a little surprised that Hermione didn't know this. Were the creatures here really not able to fight?
After her Luxray finishes with the Grats, it trots back to Dawn. Dawn pets him.] Good job! I want you to meet Hermione. I'll be living with her from now on.
no subject
... But, as adorable as the Luxray may be, there's a part of Hermione that can't help but find this sort of partnership to be strange, to say the least. Training pets to fight? Was that even humane? What if these 'pokemon' didn't want to fight? Did they have a say in the matter? It was a bit similar to the plight of House Elves-- maybe they didn't know any better. Nonetheless, Hermione looks down at the Luxray to give it a small, hesitant smile.]
Hello...? [...Can it talk?]
