[Xu's been gone for quite a while now, and Squall's been contemplating the idea of someone filling her shoes more and more as the weeks pass. If she ever returns then the position might return to her, but until then Squall needed someone to take over. All that paperwork couldn't be done entirely on his own.

[What's this? The announcement catches Quistis off-guard as she pauses from her trek back to her dormitory from the cafeteria. She glances up towards the ceiling as though maybe she could decipher what exactly Squall would want with her, but quickly recovers. Might as well meet him now, especially if he had to call for her over the intercom instead of seeking her out personally. But then again, this was Squall-- he had never been all that personal.

Pressing the 3F button instead of the 2F level to her dorm, she patiently waits for the elevator to take her up to the private floor reserved especially for the higher-level personnel. In no time she finds herself in front of Squall's office, and politely she raps the back of her knuckles against the large wooden doors.]

[By the time Quistis knocks at the door, Squall's digging around through a filing cabinet. He throws a 'come in' over his shoulder and waits, continuing with the file rifling.]

[She presses the button for the door to slide open once she hears his reply through the metal door. Approaching the desk, Quistis doesn't bother to give him the normal SeeD salute-- while it was protocol to address the Commander as so, even Quistis thought that their friendship allowed for some leeway.]
